Default The Producers - The 2005 Remake!

The new movie we're going to chat about:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0395251/

The 1968 version can be found here:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063462/

Honestly I think there is no need for a remake of this movie, the original was an amazing film. But I guess theres always room for a remake.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: Dang it! I put it in the wrong forum Could a mod move this to the chit chat forum please? Thanks a bunch.

It's not a remake, it's a film version of the musical.

And, as the clips I've seen from the musical were far more amusing than the abysmal original effort, I think it's a good thing .

Seriously, though, I never found the original film as funny as everyone kept saying it was, but I saw some excerpts from the musical and loved it.

I always welcome remakes and sequels, even if they are bad to some people. Fans always see past the few flaws.

I saw the musical and loved it. I just hope the movie goes beyond just trying to film the musical. The Phantom of the Opera movie did that and while I'm a sucker for musicals, even that didn't stop me from cringing at the straight filming of certain scenes (like the movie medium could have done so much more for the boat ride to the Phantom's lair as well as to his hideout itself).

There really are no other movies except remakes these days...

No we're not, the producers are. Us creative folk are full of ideas, just we're apparently "risky" to trust.
