It's hard to be humble when you're as great as I am.
Or as old apparently. Girls go for cute. Women go for handsome. The beard is a double-edged sword though. It's tends to be either top marks or not in a million years.

Squinkies go for not in a million years.

True, but then the term "girl" is applied fairly broadly. So I'm in the better boat than you are, as I get the my-age-to-30 demographic of females.

Jatsies go for cute over handsome, does that make us a girl?

I guess so. Who knew? You've just got to decide if Squinky is worth shaving for. I'd be inclined to say yes but I'm happily married to a woman that likes the beard so it isn't going to happen.

I finally get to go home in a couple of hours' time. A mere day after I handed back my room key.
Thank heavens for relatives. And a pox on the traffic lights at Windsor. |

Yesterday I accidentally came up with, what I believe to be, the world's greatest chat up line.
Speaking with someone for the first time, on the topic of where all the nice men had gone, I responded "If I find one, I'm chaining him up in the basement, Joseph Fritzl style." I don't think one can make a better first impression than that!

My Will has a van dyke connected to narrow sideburns that follow his jawline--very sexy, very virile. Huzzah for bearded men.

For a minute there I read that as Prince Albert, not Van Dyke...

Actually, by my statement, I meant that I go for men that most women would never go for in a million years. I actually really like beards, which is probably because I can't grow one myself.
On that topic, I often wonder whether my heterosexual bias is due to my general preference for novelty. I mean, I have trouble finding women's bodies attractive, because if I want to see boobs, I can just look at myself naked in the mirror, right?

I'm happily hetero, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate beautiful women as well as beautiful men. I mean, really--if someone told me that I had to make out with either Angelina Jolie or the weirdly repugnant Stephen Baldwin, I'd choose Angelina every time. Dan, get a grip. |

Oh, I've found many a woman's face, mannerisms, etc. attractive in my lifetime. And I think I'd be okay with making out with any person of any gender, provided that my feelings for them were above a certain threshold of comfort and familiarity. (Still, relatively few people fit this criterion, so don't get any ideas. ) It's just the whole "seeing a woman naked" thing that doesn't really pique my interest.
Not sure what sexual orientation that makes me, although I do see sexuality as more of a spectrum (or rather, a scatterplot with several variables) than an either/or type thing. In practice, though, I'm asexual/celibate at this point in time, so it's probably not an issue yet.

Keep up the intellectual discussion as Robert heads home. It'll increase the Thread's shields. <---- there was nothing intellectual about this comment.
