I'd have to say devices created to prevent masturbation.

I suspect a lot of junior Houdinis perfected their craft by getting out of and back into those devices on the sly.
American carmakers have taken to putting a lot of worthless "features" into modern cars, such as:
Automatic door locks- They lock all the doors when the car is put in gear, which is a good thing, but they unlock all the doors when the car's gearshift is placed in "Park".
Theatre-style interior lights- When the door is shut, they dim slowly instead of just going out. These are a real pain when you're trying to steal a quick kiss in a crowded parking lot.
Automatic headlights- These come on by themselves when it gets dark. If you're so blind you can't tell when it's getting dark, you don't need to be driving.
