NBA Opening Night, How I Love Thee...
Is everyone pumped?! Or am I the only NBA fan? Heh. Tonight the Dallas Mavericks played the Phoenix Suns, and I'm a huge Mavs fan. I went to a bar nearby and watched the game with some friends. Plenty of other Mavs fans were there watching, but the game started going really bad. The Mavs were down by 10 at halftime...then they simply couldn't gain any ground in the 3rd quarter. With 7 1/2 minutes left in the final quarter, Phoenix had a 17 point lead (83-66), and the Mavs fans started paying their tabs and leaving. It was quite depressing.
But as I'm sitting there drinking one more Red Bull and Vodka before I leave, I notice that Dirk Nowitzki (my avatar) starts raining 3 pointers. He hits three in a row! The Mavs go on a 21-3 scoring run to finish the quarter and send the game to overtime. No one could believe it, but at the same time everyone expected the Mavs to blow it in OT (the game was in Phoenix and it takes a lot of energy to come back from 17 points down in 7 minutes). No surprise, the Mavs were down 5 points with 36 seconds left in OT, and AGAIN they manage to come back to tie it (Jason Terry scored, thank God, as the buzzer sounded). Then, in 2nd OT the Mavs finally managed to win it. This was probably the best season opener I've seen in all the years I've been a Mavs fan. Anyway, sorry for the lengthy tale...anyone else excited that basketball is here again? |

MSG. It's a local channel in NY, NJ, you probably don't get it in IL.
86-85 Knicks with 4 min to go. Knicks missed 14 FTs so far. God! |

That sucks. I always kind of liked the Warriors, and once again, they're ****ed.

Shyeah. They suck alright. That's why they're playing the game professionally, right?

Don't forget Tim Duncan, Rasheed Wallace, Dwayne Wade, Paul Pierce, Elton Brand, Steve Francis...
Well, you see where I'm going with this. |

Of course they're playing professionally, they've lowered their standards. That's not to say that ALL suck. The majority of them do though. If not, then explain why the NBA has some of the lowest attendance rates of all time and why their TV ratings are the lowest they've been in decades?
