Default Rain!!!

Having grown up in Illinois where you get rain in the summer, I miss it during the dry season in the central valley of California.

Right now - the sky is dark grey and it's thundering and I can smell the rain on the air. I love it!! I've always loved a good thunderstorm. It seems a bit early for the rain but I'm not complaining.

Is it raining in the Bay area?

Rain is good because it can mean snow. But I still get kind of depressed around it.

It's not cold enough to snow and it doesn't do that where I live (Davis) but in the Sierras - 2 feet with a good winter storm and the skiers are tremendously happy!

With rain, it can certainly depress me sometimes but be incredibly invigorating other times. Maybe I'm odd.

It is quite sunny and pleasant in Santa Cruz, as is traditional in September/October. I envy you, though. I wish it was raining. It'd make me feel a lot better about being stuck indoors all day.

It rained a little on our way home from Tahoe today.

It's sunny and nice in San Francisco, though.

It rained in Birmingham, AL last night for the 1st time since Hurricane Katrina passed through. I took advantage of it & dug up some sycamore saplings after the rain softened the ground.

I love the sound of rain, especially when sitting in an old car with little in the way of noise insulation (especially in the back seat )

I love going to sleep when its raining outside. Thunderstorms charge me up a bit though, I get an urge to go walking or something to expend energy. We've had really low railfall this year to the extent that we now have permananent water restrictions and an old, inactive dam is being refurbished.

Yeah, I love to fall asleep to the sound of rain too!

And I could die for thunderstorms! Thunders give me such an intense feeling - a feeling like mutual, but unanswerable, love...

It rains all the time in Paris. I like it, but a bit of sun fits the ol' gal as well, and it makes everyone happier...

You've never experienced rain until you've lived in the highlands of central Wales.

I love rain, although I don't get much of a chance to walk in it any more. I love the feel of rain running over my skin, but I'm always in a situation where I need to be dry at my destination. Bother.

I detest snow, however. Evil stuff.

Our tastes are pretty similar Jeysie! Rain - good. Snow - bad. It rained here in Cambridge, MA yesterday. I love dark gloomy days (not one after the other, of course, but the occasional one is nice). Those are the days, if I'm lucky enough to be at home, where I can curl up in my large squashy couch, drape myself in a warm wooly blanket, read a little David Sedaris (or at the other end of the spectrum a good scary novel!) while sipping cocoa and listen to the rain pelt on the windows.

Rain is good for adventure gaming (sunshine is crap for all forms of gaming) but how can you not like snow! How??

I agree on the adventure gaming opportunities in rainy days, but after my second year here dreading the need to bust out the shovel and spend hours shovelling out my car after the year's first big snowfall, I have to say I've developed quite the dislike for snow. I do like it when it first falls -- it's so clean, prisitine, white, and clear. But living in an urban area -- that doesn't last too long. After the first day, it's dirty and grimey, and it's no fun tracking in sand and salt everywhere I go. I don't know, maybe it will grow on me?

I don't like walking in the rain anymore, since I am wearing prescription glasses. :/
