Default ForeverDream Studios Wants You

A dead poet. A house on the hill.
Lost love. A ballpoint pen.

Fruitcake.

Have you been chosen?
Who is to blame?

"The Curves of Danger"
Coming Fall 2004 from
ForeverDream Studios.

ForeverDream Studios Wants You

If you are talented, creative, progressive, dedicated, and possess programming and related technical skills for designing computer games, we want you. We need volunteer animators and programmers to work with us on our upcoming classic noir adventure game, The Curves of Danger, to be released in Q3/4 2004. Work with us on this cool and stylish new game while beefing up your resume. Programmers must have some _javascript experience, and c++ is preferable. Animators, modelers and texturers need to use either MAX or XSI. All candidates must be willing to work hard to help us produce one of the finest classic adventures games ever created.

For more information and to apply, please contact James Gallen at ForeverDream Studios: [email protected].

To see the quality of our work in progress, please visit The Curves of Danger capsule site: http://www.foreverdreamstudios.com/games.html.

Why JavaScript and C++? Aren't you using the Wintermule engine? Or is it that the engine has a similar scripting language to JS and C++? Or do you need to make modifications to the engine?

I'm not interested myself as I won't have the time, but those questions would probably come up anyway.

I'm not a programmer, so why don't you ask James?

What sort of time commitment are you looking for from the programmer?

The Curves of Danger.. heh, is it a coincidence that the name is so close to Dangerous Curves (one of the most enjoyable interactive fiction adventures I've ever played)?

Although I don't think I can help, I just wanted to compliment you guys on those screen shots. They're beautiful.

This sentence make me think if you really know what is meant with high-level and low-level in terms of computer languages. Level is how high the abstraction is in the language. Assembler, for example, has close to nil abstraction and is the lowest possible language (except perhaps microcode) and I would very much guess that C++ is lower than WME (I don't know what WME is, but I guess it's an adventure scripting language). Object-orientation is an abstraction, yes, but there are still many lowlevel constructs in C++ (such as pointers and other things in common with C).
