Catico-1: A panoramic flash adventure game
I just wanted to introduce my new adventure game I am developing to this board. My game, Catico-1, is a sci-fi adventure game created by me (Chad Lumley) in an attempt to create a free, high quality adventure game that can be played in a web browser. This first installment is created as a proof-of-concept to see if a panoramic game is possible with Flash and if it can be easily streamed on the internet. The project is currently in the alpha stage of development but will hopefully move to beta within the next couple of weeks. I have a development blog that I recently started up at LUMLICIOUS, which has my development progress and an in-engine sample of the game. Last edited by Lumlicious; 04-05-2010 at 03:49 PM. |

Cool. It looks good. Will there be animation, too?

Yes. The background will have animated spots as you rotate around, but I can't have too many animations at once or the framerate really suffers. I will update the sample with animations soon.

Nice engine, will you add an option for inverted camera control?

That would be good. I don't know the mechanics behind such a thing, so I don't know whether it's easy to implement or not. But it's usually an option with games that have a moving camera.
I don't know why some people instinctively move the camera differently. Perhaps it has to do with a history of playing flight sims?
