New Indie adventure game: Shades of Violet.
Good day everyone! My name is Heriberto, and I'm the leader of the indy videogame creator group: "Fly studio games". And I would like to introduce you to a game we are creating, Shades of Violet.
Click to see full size Click to see full size Click to see full size The game is a steampunk/sci-fi fantasy adventure with a whymsicall twist. Explore a world full of diverse characters and discover the adventure of a lifetime. Create ideas from simple concepts and use them in the real world to solve riddles with the Idea system, and travel the world in classic point and click fashion. We're striving for a November Website release (both of the studio and the game) and we're hoping you can help us by providing links to good indy adventure game makers. We're hoping we can build a database of everyone that's doing this for either fun or profit, and also to serve as a community of creators where you can tune in to find help, advice, useful links and information on the tools needed to create your own adventure games. I've included a sneak peek to the Game's website just for fun. The webpage launches November 15th. The game's first chapter has a release date of September 2008. Soon we will also create a nice series of video casts to show game progress. And We're just going to need your feedback to make a great game. We're hoping to create a game everyone will like. We're hoping to create not just any game, but one that'll be remembered dearly. Last edited by Melanie68; 10-22-2007 at 03:15 PM. Reason: changed pics into thumbnails |

Welcome to AG Heriberto!
The game looks very cool from the screens and the description. Will this be a free adventure or will you be charging for it? Last edited by Melanie68; 10-22-2007 at 03:16 PM. |

I haven't decided yet. I actually want to offer the first episode for free, and then continue onwards to develop the whole thing and then distribute digitally with a low price, and try to do a special edition for physicall (but also, online-bought) distribution. I would love to include some sort of "feelies" or extras in a physical version.
I also forgot to mention the music's being handled by the ever talented Joshua Pfeiffer of Vernian Process. I'll be sure to let some soundtrack samples showcase into the webpage. |

Lovely images, there!
...any chance you'd be able to resize them so they won't break the forum layout?

Very cool. The Victorian era is my specialty at school, and I can see a lot of Victorian influence in the game, even in character names (Delma Dickens).
Can't wait to see more!

I really love the characters already and graphics in general. And the world sounds very intriguing; I like steamfantasy a lot; for example I fell in love with world in a RPG game called Arcanum ( that's a lot of "ins" x.x).

And yeah, the game is bound to include many literary references (but not only Victorian either in theme or direct speech). Actually the in-joke for Delma Dickens is that she runs an orphanage, an in order to avoid being a cliché, she strived to make happy orphans instead of the usual fare. |

Yes It's a long way. But if we finish chapter 1 early we'll be sure to release right away. After all we're striving for big quality (which also equals big time, mostly because we also have our daytime jobs)

Sure! We're actually planning on making videocasts of the game's progress (both to show graphics and ideas on an engaging and fun way)

Who's the Character Designer?
I really like the design! The games looks and sounds interesting, I'll definitely check it out when it comes out.
