Underground Scene of the Day - Monday 19 March 2007
Pleurghburg: The Dark Ages is an Underground classic. But it's not, if you ask me, a great game. Too often, the game feels like a half-digested pastiche of other titles (Police Quest, Tex Murphy, Laura Bow) set against a cardboard backdrop that betrays only the most naive notions of how the real world works. Still, some bits are very good indeed, and though the story is often ludicrous, it seldom fails to entertain.

What I found annoying about this game was the recurrence of situations where, in order to advance the story, you had to go to particular locations without, in my opinion, any particular reason to.
Plus I was slightly disappointed by the ending. I expected something a lot bigger than Spoiler:
