Pleurghburg: The Dark Ages is an Underground classic. But it's not, if you ask me, a great game. Too often, the game feels like a half-digested pastiche of other titles (Police Quest, Tex Murphy, Laura Bow) set against a cardboard backdrop that betrays only the most naive notions of how the real world works. Still, some bits are very good indeed, and though the story is often ludicrous, it seldom fails to entertain.
