Default Bad Brains & Vampyre Story

I read on another adventure board that Bad Brains Entertainment and Autumn Moon have parted ways and that Vampyre Story will be looking for another publisher. Can anyone back this up? If it's true then all I can say is that things arent looking good for BBE.

Ouch...

I don't know whether to be sad or relieved.

Could be good, could be bad. Bad Brain probably had too much on it's plate for a startup publisher/developer anyway. And it's not like Vampyre Story won't get snatched up quick, anyway. The Adventure Company will publish just about anything.

probably similar to bbe come to think of it

TAC doesn't seem to mind if they bankrupt a development studio as long as they get a title out of it.

Yeah. They'll publish anything. Like Gray Matter (Project Jane-J).

I've still not really gained a view on BBE since their dealings around the S&M deal. When they actually publish a game, maybe I will. I hope Bill Tiller will be able to secure another publishing deal for AVS though.

I figured that was the case... I was going to add something sarcastic along with my first post, but just in case anyone who read this was absolutely in love with The Adventure Company, I bit my tongue. It was something along the lines of them being similar to the Three Stooges, who probably never turned down a script because it was lousy.

I hope Tiller will find a real publisher now.

I'm not too thrilled about their portable idea. I mean, it sounds good for them and all, but I already know *I'm* not going to buy one of those portables. Never liked them. I never owned a Gameboy or something either.

Considering how BBE handled the whole Sam and Max affair I'm not surprised. I'm also a little relieved that they're not publishing it. I'm sure someone else will publish the game as it looks great but what's going to happen to BBE? I mean this was their only game I was looking forward to and none of their other games look the least bit interesting. It sure is a different prospect now than a few months back when it seemed like they were going to publish S&M and AVS.

Yeah, I also have to say my opinion of BBE is less than what it was. Originally I supported their idea of interacting with fans to gain some publicity. It seemed like a win-win situation. But there must be something lacking in their actual business acumen or something because there doesn't seem to be anything real.

I'm going to try and give them the benefit of the doubt and say they (Wolfgang is actually the only one I know of) really did mean well with the whole S&M thing. But now watching as AVS pulls away from them... it's just not looking good. I guess it's too early to tell, but still. I wish them the best of luck and hope they end up becoming what they promised months ago--to be a fully committed company with great titles.

I'm past caring. So far past caring, really, that I now find it amusing.
Still, I wish Bill Tiller & co good luck.

Hmmm....I'm not sure about that. If they really are a startup company trying to build a good reputation as one that supports new talents, fledgling developors, and innovative game concepts, they so far have not earned it at all.

Well, with something like S&M I can understand why someone might be so excited as to play some games with it. It seemed harmless enough at the time. Any expectations we had were our own and it's our own fault if we're disappointed. I liked the enthusiasm, but without anything to back it up it's pretty much meaningless. So they (Wolfgang, whatever, I don't even know) might have jumped the gun. But I can't really blame them since I'd be excited if there was a chance I could revive S&M too. I don't think any of us will really, 100% know what happened since there's so many different accounts. But that's all in the past. Right now I'm neutral to BBE. Everything is still up in the open, and they have much to prove. The only interest I have in them is solely based on the fact that the more companies out there the more games we have. The more games we have, the more good ones that will shake out. Again, whether BBE actually makes anything, or anything good for that matter, all remains to be seen. It's not like I'll be following their main page for the latest news or anything, and I do wish them luck. But I won't shed any tears if they pull the plug and abandon everything tomorrow.
