As far as I know they're exactly the same, except that one version fits onto 2 CDs because it has better audio compression. It may have a different box as well, I don't know*.

* If they'd actually sent me what I ordered (instead of Anarchy Online), I would.

About that, Ninja Dodo, did it say in the e-mail they sent you to confirm your order (you should have received one) that your ordered AI or TLJ? If it says TLJ, I think you should be able to send AI back and still receive TLJ. At least, that would be logical I think...

If u have a reciept saying TLJ instead of AO then yeah u can defo get it exchanged although u will have to pay postage and companys usually require returns to be special delivery only. And of course AO must not have been opened.

Hey, you too?! I ordered the 2CD version from funcom.shop because it said "fully tested for XP" and I couldn't get the older version to play on my computers. Got the expansion pack Alien Invasion for Anarchy Online instead. From Ireland, of all places. Emailed funshop. No reply. Emailed them again, to different email address. No reply.

Well, I'm not going to return AO if they don't reply to my email. It says on their site that you need an RMA number to get refunded etcetera.

There's an address on the enclosed printout, but it's barely legible. Someone should tell them to change their printer cartridge once in while...

Rama: Yes, it said TLJ on my email receipt.

The plot thickens.

I just managed to get through to the telephone customer service for the first time, which for whatever reason is based in Germany, and got some kind of explanation. It turns out this is a pretty big problem and not just the odd mistake. The guy was talking about whole shipments being sent to the wrong people. I think the reason they're not replying to emails is probably that they're getting inundated with them. He said they're still waiting for instructions from FunCom on a procedure for returning these games and he told me to call back friday.

I bought the 2-disc version from Frys the other day to replace the 4-disc version because one of the discs had gotten cracked. There is basically no difference. The 2 disc version uses Ogg Vorbis for audio compression and Bink Video for compression, so it fits in less space. Otherwise, no difference. And yes, it runs perfectly fine in XP.

Yep and also when the 4 disks got replaced by the 2 disks, the box got smaller, too!

It's good to hear that customer service wasn't just ignoring you. On the other hand, it isn't good to hear that this is such a big problem. I hope Funcom will find a proper solution for it.

About the customer service being based in Germany; I think it has something to do with the fact that Germany has the euro and Norway doesn't (they still have Norwegian Krones). I ordered Alien Invasion and I had to transfer the money to Germany. I guess it cuts on exchange costs or what ever they're called.

Hm, good point. I suppose Germany is also more centrally located distribution-wise...
