I've only played through GK3 and I'm half-through GK1 so I don't want to vote before I have played all the games in the series, but the poll will probably be closed by then so I will have to choose between GK1 and 3 then. That's not an easy choice btw. Both are marvelous games.
Oh, what the hell, I'll just choose GK3 to get it over with. |

GK 1 was uber cool, so I guess that one. Plus it had the most celebrity work.

Haven't played 3 yet, but I doubt it can surpass the sheer brilliance that Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers was. It is an awesome game that grips you from the beginning to the ending.

The Beast Within, by far. Maybe the best adventure game ever made.

I like the first Gabriel Knight the most, Mark Hamill as Det. Mosely
Everything was great in GK1, except it was a little hard for a dumb guy like me. The story in GK2 was good, but the FMV sucked bigtime. GK3 seems like a great game but I've tried it only two times, first time I got stuck somewhere and forgot about the game and uninstalled it eventually, then second time I got the game going on pretty sweet, but then one dark day Windows decided to wipe out all my savegames and such. I haven't played it since.

I vote GK3. It's the pinnacle of adventure gaming design so far; the best achievement in interactive storytelling.

Sins of the Fathers. Not only the best game in Gabe´s series, but also the best game ever made.

Very few games made me feel like Gabriel Knight 3, Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned did. It's in my Top 3 ever. Superior story, superior gameplay, superior writing, superior humor, superior characters, the list goes on.
As a matter of fact, The Gabriel Knight games get better as the serie develops. I can only imagine what perfection GK4 could be... |

The storyline that Jane Jensen has mentioned about the creepy haunting also sounds awesome. Project Jane-J sounds like it's going to be awesome, but I hope the interface won't feel like a step backwards from the awesome 3D interface GK3 had.

This is tough. Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned had the best atmosphere, The Beast Within the best story and Sins of the Fathers is just damn good, especially considering the year of release. In the end, I voted The Beast Within, but chose it by a very small margin.

My favourite GK game is Gabriel Knight III: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned. Pretty much everything about the game is awesome.

GK1-GK3-GK2 That's how I feel it. But Sins of the Fathers is defenetly the best one, and simply one of the best adventures ever made.

I only played the first one, and I absolutely loved it. Definitely the best sierra adventure I've ever played. That intro with its music...

I haven't played any of them YET. I own original copies of all the games, but haven't found the time yet to play them.
So that's why I voted haven't played them yet. |

How in the world is GK 2 last?
It's the best game ever. period. I don't get it...oh well. I guess not a lot of people played it, being 6 CDs long and quite old. |

Here, 6 discs wouldn't really put people off. I just feel the other two are more involving.

I love GK2 to bits, but GK3 is the better game, I feel. There's more freedom in every sense, there's more replayability (more non-essential as well as essential stuff to do), an infinite amount of camera angles, infinitely improved, fully dynamic sound world... And one heck of an impressive overall game design. To me, it's just the most immersive of the three games.
