Default Black Mirror II story recap (needed for BM III)

Hi,

I was searching like crazy for some good Black Mirror II story recap, without success. I really want to play Black Mirror III but I almost completely forgot what happened in Black Mirror II. I've found somewhere a recap of the first part but full summary of BM II is nowwhere to be found.

Could write a short (or long ) description on what happened on BM II and what should I know to enjoy third part of this game?

Thanks in advance,
Bili

Ok, given the fact that I've played all "Black Mirror" games and I've already wrote a "recap" of the first one for another forum member, I'll try. I've played "Black Mirror II" shortly after it was released and only once so far, but I think I remember the most crucial things. Here we go.

Spoiler:
The story begins with a flashback of Samuel Gordon back in 1969. One stormy night he attacks his wife Cathryn in a library of the castle and causes the fire. This is what caused Samuel to leave his home and be absent for 12 years before returning to his grandfather funeral in the first game.

The story then shifts to Biddeford, Maine. Here we get to know Darren Michaels - the main character of BMII and III. He's a student of physics (I think) on a summer leave, staying at his mother's. He works in a nearby photo store and has quite a dispute with the owner (Fuller). Meanwhile, a mysterious girl Angelina comes to the little town. Darren is immediately attracted by the girl. Soon, an intrigue involving a shady porn business or something at Fuller's developes and one morning he's found dead. The police has a photo showing Angelina at the site. The rest of the game in Bidderford revolves around Darren helping to clear Angelina's name and exposing Fuller. In the process, his mom was found unconcious at her home and ends up in a hospital. The staff ask Darren to solve a matter with her insurance. While doing that, Darren learns that mom recieved payments made in Willow Creek, England. While investigating, Darren finds more and more clues that ties his mother with Willow Creek. At the end of the chapter, Darren gets an evidence and clears Angelina's name, who then says goodbye and returns to England. Meanwhile, Darren's mother dies in a hospital and wrecked Darren decides to discover more about her past and of Angelina, which brings him to Willow Creek, England.

During his stay in Willow Creek, Darren meets familiar places and people we already know from the first game, and in turn discovers more and more bonds between his mother and the Black Mirror castle. He also learns about the sinister events that took place in the past there and about the Gordon family curse. When his path finally leads him to the castle itself, Darren experiences several shocking revelations. First, that his mother worked as a maid there before he was born and that she couldn't even be his mother because she wasn't pregnant on a photo from that time. As the story developes further, he founds out that his true mother is Cathryn (Samuel Gordon's wife) who was alive all these years but hiding in a secret room of the castle because of her burns. Cathryn reveals Darren that his real name is Adrian, that he has a twin sister (Angelina), and that their father is Samuel Gordon himself. She also confirmes that the family decided to keep Adrian away from the curse that supossedly attacks only male Gordon descendants, so they've sent him far away from Black Mirror - to America. Mrs. Michaels (a servant in the castle), took little Adrian with her and she raised him as her own son.

Finally, we found out about Angelina's motives. It turnes out that she is also under the Gordon family curse and is determined to release the spirit of Mordred Gordon. To do this, she needs a blood of the live male Gordon descendant. That was the reason of her coming to America - to find her brother and to lure him back to Black Mirror. The game ends while Adrian tries to stop her which ultimately result in death of both Angelina and Cathryn who pulls her into the abyss in the ritual chamber beneath the Black Mirror castle.

as the beneficiary of terhardp's first Black Mirror recap (thanks again!), i think this would be a good idea. in fact i don't know why that site doesn't have more submitted recaps (maybe its just new).

To Bili and shinynewtie, thank you for your words of support guys. I'll think about publishing this "recap" on the site you've mentioned, but first I'll have to revise it a bit. It has a few quirks here and there.

To Annoymous Broccoli, AFAIK there isn't any patch for "Black Mirror". BTW why do you need the patch? IIRC, the game worked fine from start to end on my older computer running Windows XP - that's what I've played it on back in 2004. Of course, I haven't tried to run it on my newer machines with Vista and 7, so I don't know if it works OK on newer Windows systems.
