Default So, you're stranded on a desert island and can only take 3 games....

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take 3 Adventure Games with you - to be the only ones you could replay for all eternity - what would they be? I'm getting anxious, just thinking about it!

But, I'll start (though I really want to take about 10!)

1. Dreamfall
2. The Lost Crown
3. Lost Horizon

I love so many of them - it would be really hard to choose - but I base this decision on the beauty and coziness of Dreamfall, the creepiness and terror of Lost Crown, and surprised I chose it - but Lost Horizon for the sheer fun of it! That game just makes me happy - played it several times already.

Ok - your turn!

I'd pick

1. URU Ages Beyond Myst - the game that introduced me to adventure gaming. I have a life long love-relationship with it.
2. The Syberia games (yes, they come as one in this case) - for the beauty and the gripping story.
3. The Longest Journey - for the atmosphere and the story.

Ha ha - taking both Syberias as one - I'll go with that (then I'm sneaking in The Longest Journey to go with Dreamfall!

It depends, you didn't mention the conditions!
But, If I would like to remain there:

Broken Sword 2
Longest journey
Monkey island 3
(some of my favorite games)

But if I'm stranded and I'm alone on the island and need to survive, these might come in handy:

Return to mysterious island or Destination Tresure island;
So blonde
Monkey island series

You may get some hints from these!
Or... you might search for a monkey named Jojo to control a big giant monkey head (if there is one on your island, of course!) to get you out of there...

LOL...funny question

None...or the ones that came with the big cardboard boxes with plenty of paper and cardboard inside to burn. I wonder if I would have remembered to grab a computer when I was stranded and even then with no electricity on the island a laptops battery wouldn't last long enough to play a game. If there was electricity then I would follow the lines until I found where it was coming from and maybe be rescued. Or by chance if I could use the computer and get a link I would email someone to "Get me the hell off of this island" That being said...

Rhem 1, 2 & 3

These games were 40 plus hours for me in the real world and if I was stranded without pencil, paper or a printer I would be playing for years with my only notes written in the sand.

Grim Fandango
Broken Sword 1
Too many candidates for third place so I'll leave it at that since I don't need to be sitting here for a couple of hours trying to make up my mind.

Um...would we have a computer in that island and if yes...how would we find power to keep it alive?
Well anyway I wouldn't take 3 games, I would have them all saved in my computer ahahahahah PWNED XD. But if I was someone else...that would be me...yea well...I'd take

1) Shadow Of Destiny
2)The Longest Journey and Dreamfall as they come together
3)Indigo Prophecy

Good thinking everyone about whether or not we would have a running computer on our desert island... BUT, I would venture to say that we have all played so many adventure games that by now we SURELY would be able to fashion a working computer out of seashells, sand, a random bamboo pole and that rusty crowbar we found under the rock!

Well, I'd choose adventures that offer some replay value, so I get more entertainment for some while longer! My choices:
The Last Express
The Pandora Directive

As the third I'd choose Indiana Jones and the Fate of the Atlantis if I didn't already know every variation of it, therefore my final choice falls on Shadows of Destiny, another great game.
Oh, or maybe Conquests of the Longbow instead...or Maupiti Island...? Such tough decisions!

Biosys - if I die of starvation and dehydration, at least there's two of us

Dreamfall of The Longest Journey - the kind of game I would never finish unless I was stranded on an island. Might also be helpful in keeping up the memory of what social skills are.

Turok the Dinosaur Hunter, for when I grow tired of scraping off the wildlife

It would depend on the perspective of the situation: paradise or prison.

In the first case I would probably bring my favourite dark-themed adventures, as a contrast to the setting:
  • The Lost Crown: A Ghost-hunting Adventure
  • Still Life
  • Fahrenheit

If I would perceive the situation as grim and hopeless, I would probably choose something to cheer me up like:
  • The Curse of Monkey Island
  • Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror
  • Runaway: A Road Adventure

Well, I think this list would change every year, but at the moment it would be:

Monkey Island Series
Gabriel Knight Series
CSI Series

Yeah, I cheated with series... but it's too hard to decide!

Great question! Picking series, though, is so cheating!

Mine would be:

1. The Lost Crown
2. The Longest Journey
3. Riven

My favorite games of all time-I could play them at least 100 times.

No, no, no, no.
I don't want to think about such a situation.

But i'd take
The Lost Crown
The Longest Journey 1 and 2.
The Last Express.

And then i smuggle the Tex Murpy Games.

And any other game i can get.

IF THAT HAPPENED....I'd pick GAMES I HAVE NOT PLAYED YET

I think...

Lost Horizon seems pretty good
The longest journey also
and this one I've played it already but not completed, Fahrenheit Indigo Prophecy

I'd pick some endless hardcore games that need an eternity to pass. If we are talking about adventure games (or adventure alike), then something like

-Maupiti Island
-Robinson's Requiem
-The Legacy: Realms of Terror

Or maybe just a full collection of DROD games.

I'd make sure seagul was also stranded on the island, because I like her choice best and we would have 6 adventures to play.

1. Blue Ice. Because it is the hardest adventure ever and would take forever to finish.
2. Discworld 1. I figure I'll need to be cheered up every once in a while on that damn island, so I'll bring a hard game with lots of humor.
3. The Neverhood. Same reason. Plus the wonderful music.
