I've merged your thread with this one, so hopefully you can get some answers for games non-Myst like.

Wonderful... some really nice suggestions, some I've heard of, others totally new. Many thanks... now to find them all.

fantastic game i only played for the first time a couple months ago. really just awesome, total one of a kind. the kind of game that could only happen in that one magical period of the nineties where a big name like spielberg would actually venture to make an adventure game.

If puzzles in an adventure game are your thing then Draculas Origin (which seems to throw puzzles into the mix just for the sake of it at times) may be worth a look though it has its faults (No widescreen, slightly annoying interface) .. On the plus side its usually in bargain buckets for 3.99 and does look rather nice (just in 4:3)..

Maybe you could try casual games? You could check the site www.bigfishgames.com.
But i don't know if they fit the title "adventure games".... |

I was originally thinking of Myst but I installed it and it seems like there would be a fair amount of reading and it doesn't seem like a good one to play as a team. I like FMV games and if Black Dahlia combines FMV with puzzles that would be great, but it looks like it might be hard to find. |

Sherlock Holmes vs Arsene Lupin (named Nemesis in other countries) has very nice puzzles.
Also The Secrets of Da Vinci: The Forbidden Manuscript has good puzzles. |
