Default Adventure Game Graphic Resolution?

I've played one or two of these games - SH vs Arsene, Dracula 3 - and enjoyed them but I was disappointed to see that the resolution was only something like 1024x768 on my 1900x1200 screen.
I tried the Still Life 2 demo and it looked good apart from the same jaggy resolution.
Do any of these games run in higher res?
Thanks.

I have been dissapointed by this as well..What is the issue.. Out of date game engines or what..

Both the latest Sherlock Holmes and as far as I can see Still Life 2 also seem to have no support for widescreen monitors which must surely be the norm these days..

I can not see the logic in being asked to pay full price for something that has no resolution settings and cant even run correctly on a modern monitor..

Well done to Secret files 2 for having a multitude of settings and configuration.. Looking forward to the next game..

Sorry to moan, but the other thing is there is no gamma/brightness correction in the options.
An essential if you ask me.

Secret Files 2 has widescreen. If games don't have good resolution they usually have options to switch to windows mode and that helps so the graphics aren't stretched. And if it's not in the options, just do some investigating. Most of the time you can change to windows mode by going into certain files and changing some things.

Regarding aspect ratios, I agree that's something the games should be able to handle so that the graphics don't get stretched. But recent graphics card drivers have a setting that you can use to fix it for the games that don't. (I know that nVidia has it at least.)

As far as the rest goes, all I have to say at the moment is:

It's not the lack of widescreen that particulalry bothers me. The aspect ratio is fine, with the black bands at the sides.
It's the lack of res that is my main complaint. 1024x768 just looks terrible on a 1900x1200 display!
Why does every other game released in the last 5 years support all resoutions except these point and click adventures?

For what it's worth, Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper supports 1680x1050 (not sure about 1900x1200, that's beyond my monitor), as do Telltale's more recent games. AGs have been behind as always, but they're catching up.

Well, at last a game that is in the 21st Century.
Yes, Sherlock H vs Jack has got all the graphical options that one should expect, i.e. resolution (inc 1900x1200), AA, anisotropic, texture detail, gamma, etc. etc.
And it's got a first person perspective.
I'm going to buy the full game now.
Are there any others with that standard of graphics?

Where is the best place to buy the latest SH game? Here it's £30, which for a game that someone here finished in 1 day, doesn't seem very good value!

The US counterpart of The Adventure Shop has it for $19.99.
