Riddle of the sphinx-type Adventures?
Are there any beside it's sequel? I've played both and enjoyed them tremendously. Anything similar out there? The most my computer can take:

You might give the Dark Fall games a whirl. I'm pretty sure your computer specs can handle them.

It's an old game. But if you can get hold of it, try Obsidian.
You might also enjoy Timelapse, which is easier to find. And Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time. |

Yep. I second crabapple with the Timelapse recommendation. I remember playing RotS, loving it and then finding Timelapse and loving it just as much (because it had the same feel as RotS).
When my brain feels like working properly, a couple more games might come to mind. |

I never played Riddle of the Sphinx, but by the title, I assume its theme is Egyptian mythology. Or is it?
If so, then you might consider Kheops Studio's The Egyptian Prophecy, whose system requirements are pretty low. They also developed Cleopatra: Riddle of the Tomb, but that one might require a newer system. Oh crap! I don't think I'm helping much! Anyway, have fun! |

In ROTS you are mostly exploring the interior of a pyramid, with all its secret passages. You have to solve puzzles to get "doors" or "gateways" to open, or to find a way past various types of impediments (snakes at one point). Pretty much the whole game takes place inside the pyramid, with a very small bit at the sphinx and surrounding area. In that way it's similar to Obsidian, where you spend most of your time trying to find your way through the surrealistic art-inspired world inside the Obsidian construct. Of course what you see inside ROTS is mostly very naturalistic compared to most of what you see inside the Obsidian (aside from things like burning torches and live animals in a pyramid that's been deserted for thousands of years).
