Are "Are Adventure Games Dead" Threads Dead?
I'd like to think so, but I'm not sure.

Much like the adventure genre itself, they'll pop up every now and then, but things just won't quite feel the same.

Ouch!
I blame the changing AG demographics. Those great "Are Adventure Games Dead?" threads have been replaced by the possibly even greater "I'm New to Adventures, Need Recommendations" threads. That's a hopeful development. |

So it seems...
But the real question is if you just might have brought up a totally new genre of threads now. When the storm of these kind of threads finally calms down, people will ask themselves if the "are the are the Adventure Games Dead threads dead?" are dead? They will most likely start making threads about it. Think about the children! |

Yeah, but where are the old regulars who have been playing adventures for years? Are they fed up with adventures? I miss people like Ninth, Kurufinwe and many others.

I voted "Ouch" because trying to understand the options to the poll made my head hurt.
I don't think we'll see the end of "Are Adventure Games Dead?" threads, because honestly people who aren't really into the AG community still think they're dead.

"Are Adventure Games Dead" threads aren't what they used to be in the golden era. Maybe I'm becoming nostalgic.

The "yes"s and "no"s in the poll are mixed up.

really, who saved adventure games in a troubled times? Syberia? independent developers, ags..? none of this. adventure games were saved by a great loyal army of threaders with -are the adventure games dead- threads, so i want to see more threads in 2008, dont stop now
if there wasnt a threads whether adventure games are dead or not they would be dead.. not only there werent many adventures games, but imagine if noone asked if they're dead or not.. they were the most devoted fans who just wanted to keep atention on adventure games and discuss about them. cheers to them all! The Threadâ„¢ will die.

Now that we've had this thread, are we allowed to have an 'Is the "Are 'Are Adventure Games Dead' Threads Dead?" Thread Dead?' thread?

The poll option for that should simply be "ouch".

Out of the mainstream, yes. Dead, no. I'm afraid I think the best we are going to see from adventure games these days are going to be from the independent market, smaller companies, and freeware, but they certainly are not dead.

While looking for the thread Josho opened today (about AG lists ) - which, unfortunately seems to be dead - I bumped into this brilliant thread and I wish there were more topics like this at AG forums.
