Default Goblins like

Well since lists are quite popular here, and i havent really mulled over my own gaming history I'm gonna try and do a recount on all of the adventures i played...

Maybe do them by the order of preference, at least first 10 or 20...

DOTT (best EVER!!!)
Goblins trilogy
Zak McKracken
Simon the sorcerer 1 & 2
Neverhood
Sam & Max
Toonstruck
Universe
Sanitarium ( awesome but way too easy - finished in like 7 hours)
Flight of the amazon queen
Innocent until caught & Guilty
Monkey island (the whole series)
Grim Fandango
Maniac Mansion
Leisure suit Larry (most of them)
Kings quest (2 and 3 didnt finish either. It sucks to die)
Myst 1 & 3
RAMA
Under a Killing moon
Lure of the Temptress
Hook
Space quest 3,4,5,6 and maybe a couple more
Ween
Little big adventure 1 & 2
Beneath a steel sky
Broken sword 1 & 2
Callahans CTS
KGB (really hard this one, loved it but never finished it)
Loom
Dig
Discworld 1 & 2 (never finished 1)
Full throttle
I have no mouth AIMS (loved it but due to bugs never finished it)
Indiana Jones (both)
Normality
Rex nebular
Dark seed
Safecracker
Legend of Kyrandia (liked it, but never finished even one of them - very hard)
MOTAS (hehehe)
Return to mysterious island
Woodruff and the schnibble of azimuth
Castle of dr Brain
Dreamweb
Teen agent
...

And many many more i started and left early on in the game for numerous reasons.

Whew! I sure wasted some time on these!

I wonder when are the programmers gonna learn that NO AMMOUNT of 3D and graphical trickery can replace a BAD story.

Thats why I will always remember playing DOTT and GOBLIIINS and just chuckling with excitement with every new room/level uncovered.

Are the any more games like Gobliins out there? Not counting the rest of coktel vision stuff, i played thru their entiry catalogue, yes even the weird arcade games ;D

Any hints?

I forgot to mention Goblins in my 'list'. I also played all of those, I was pretty young and can't remember much about them.

Nice list there, lots of games I never touched too. You mean by hints that you need games like Goblins more? Or just need some good games to play?

What struck my eye, there's no Broken Sword 3 or 4. There's no The Longest Journey, there are no Gabriel Knights and finally, there's no "Still Life", which was recommended to me recently and I just today completed it. What a great game. <--- All those I mentioned, I see as a 'must get' for all adventure gamer, but we all have our tastes so....

There are hardly any games that plays exactly like Coktel Vision games - the guys developed a very unique style. Though there is this little freeware game, Knightsquare, that copy the style nicely.
Also, there is Full Pipe available for download from Steam. Despite the negative review on AGs, I found the game very interesting and atmospheric, resembling CV games in terms of weirdness and gameplay.
There are two other russian games, Pilot Brothers 1 and 2, which were made in style of Gobliins 2. They are actually very fun (if a little on a short side), but I'm not sure if you can find them anywhere (though they were sold beyond the boundaries of Russia).

I've never played a game quite like the Goblins, Ween and Lost in Time excepted... I love them too, and I would love to find similar games, but somehow I doubt such games exist.

I don't see Death Gate in your list. Did you play it?

Gabriel knight just never clicked with me, i dont like games where i have to redo stuff because i missed a clue. Longest joureny is on my HD waiting for some spare time... Still life is pondered upon.

Yep, finished knighsquire, not half bad.

Thanks a bunch for the rest of the hints!!!
