Default Favorite Legend Entertainment adventure?

I'm going to be playing through some old Legend Entertainment adventures and am curious what are your favorites and why (especially the why part!).

Thanks for looking and responding! I'm ashamed to admit that I missed out on many of these. I believe I've only played Mission Critical and Eric the Unready all the way through. Gasp

I'll probably be the only vote for s101...lol

I remember buying it when I was 12 and being embarrassed to check out at the counter because the girl on the cover was in a swimsuit...lmao.

I just replayed through it a month ago and it was still a lot of fun. The second one is a hell of a lot more difficult though - Im still working through that one.

Heh! I haven't played any of the Spellcasting series (as I mentioned) but am planning on doing so.

oooo - Shannara is my second fav (but thats just because I read all the books).

I also played gateway 2 as a kid.. but never beat it. It was fun from what I remember.

Hard to vote! I played Superhero League of Hoboken, Companions of Xanth, Spellcasting 101, and Blackstone Chronicles and liked them all.

Eh, I picked Blackstone Chronicles. In spite of some of its flaws, it was a pretty creepy thriller.

Tiiiiimequeeeeest!

Seriously, I love this game. Still have the box in my shed.

I'm planning on playing through this game again, plus the spellcasting series this summer. Only two more weeks to go before exams, then I'm free for four months! Ample time to get back into the adventure game, er, game.

My favorite has to be Death Gate. I had seen a review in a magazine back then, but never managed to get my hands on it until 10 years afterwards, even though I search in many stores around the globe. I had also read and loved the books in the meantime.
So it was the perfect setup for a huge disappointment, but, well, I thought it was a great game. It's on my top five AG, easily. It's only flaw is that it's a tad too short. Otherwise, the graphics, gameplay, puzzles, interactivity, humour, pace, atmosphere are all amazing.

Right behind it is Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, which when I first heard of I thought was a short game taking place in a bar, and which really is an epic adventure through space and time, funny and fun. Top 10 material.

Gateway 2 is also probably one of the best AGs of all times, thanks to its smart and griping scenario, and its huge scope, but its old age made it a tad less fun to play than the two others. Plus it's really hard.

Then there's Mission Critical. Excellent, but not the kind of game you remember years after playing it.

Shannara is very good too, despite stupid and ugly fight scenes (nothing overly difficult, and nothing that requires reflexes, mind you), and its not-very-original fantasy plot. Quite magical.

Eric the Unready is excellent, but too old for me to really love (same as Gateway 2, but without the incredible scenario). Very funny.

Gateway is very good, but I don't like it as much as Gateway 2. It's a much less ambitious game, I think.

Companions of Xanth is ridiculously short, and far too easy and seemingly random, but still decent.

And I'm not that fond of the Spellcasting series. Too hard for me, and you can get stuck too easily.

I think that about sums up the Legend games that I've played.
Bottom line is: the second best AG company, and the most underrated of all.

Legend games are still my favourite all time adventures. I voted for Eric the Unready.

Also if my room was on fire and I had to choose 1 cd to take with me, it'll definitely be the Lost adventures of Legend collection. I still can't believe I only paid $10 for it

Oh, wow, didn't expect to see such poll
Every single adventure from Legend grades from "above average" to "superb" in my list.
But the favourite one is TimeQuest - very unique adventure that combines sci-fi, humor and historical themes into one extremely well-written plot. Time travelling in DoTT looks rather pale compared to all possibilities introduced by TQ )
Then goes Eric, Death Gate, Gateway 1-2, Callahan's and Blackstone.

Sadly, I haven't played many of those great games. I voted for one of the funniest games I know - Eric the Unready. I was 13 when that came out, and it made my sister and I fall out of our chairs a few times...

Only played Spellcasting 301: Spring Break to see the nekked chicks!

Never have I been more disappointed

Didn't "Worf" star in Mission Critical?

I voted Gateway. I loved those games!

By the way, why isn't Star Control 3 on the list???
It's at least an adventure as Shannara

Speaking of Legend games, I just saw The Legend Trophy Case II (Death gate, Shannara, Companions of Xanth) in mint condition at a pawn shop the other day for $2.99.

Without me the collection would have sold for $77... and I just wanted a boxed copy, I already have the disk + manual. Terrible, isn't it...

PS: Haven't played Timegate, but after all the praise it will be next on my list. When I have finished Runaway 2, which is more fun than I'd expected.

PPS: I voted Callahan's. But all the ones I played were good. Legend was a great company.

Yes terrible, I would've sold you my box for $1

The box is not really special unlike my Gabriel Knight 1, 2 piece Trapezoidal box. Now thats worth keeping.

as a matter of fact im playing spellcasting 101 these days. Legend is THE BEST adventure company ever period. i voted for gateway which is in my top 3 games ever, but gateway 2 , mission critical and callahan's ares still top games. great writing, hillarious with great humour, intringing plot and great GUI. its a shame all bring lucas and sierra as the best companies.and eric and spellcasting series though the most recognisable games of this company are not their top titles.
