Later tonight I will setup the thread for GK3 playthrough, so that people with install or graphical problem could start finding answers to some common problems and so on. I will leave it "un-stickied" until the ZGI community playthrough is finished, and I'll stick it then

I hope time permits me to join the GK3 walkthrough, but regardless it could be beneficial to think of the game for the next one already. It wouldn't have to start just after the current one ends.* But discussing some ideas can't hurt, eh?

Me, I'd like to revisit the idea of Blackstone Chronicles mentioned a couple of posts/months ago by Fantasy, because it's one of these games that I've had for ages, always wanted to play but never got round to. And she seemed to have done a great job with the previous playthrough she led.

*Perhaps even it shouldn't, considering that: 1. GK3 is long and involving, and 2. it may be more difficult to gather enough participants throughout the Summer. (Although some of the more popular past playthroughs seemed to have taken place in that season, so maybe the second point isn't that important.)

I would like to play again The Blacktone Chronicles.
I tried a few month ago, but i couldn't install the game.
Hope to solve this problem before the playthrough.
It would be nice if Fantasysci would agree to be our host once again.

Sadly, I don't have The Blackstone Chronicles...

Awww, you guys are sweet. I'm glad I did a good job. It was a very involved game that I wanted to squeeze all of the details out of.

I don't wantto rush Andrea's playthrough, but yes, maybe after a few months, we can see if others would like to play Blackstone Chronicles. Another one of my favorites, although not as much obviously, and it would be slightly easy to break up into "chapters", since once a room is 'opened' to us, we can stop once we get another "item"...I guess that only meant sense to people who've played it, but I'd make it more clear. I guess we'd have to see if more people would be interested. But I'd like to let Andrea have all the floor with his Gabriel Knight.

That is one sad, depressing, disturbing, cruel torture game. Anybody who loves the Blackstone Chronicles should watch Funny Games by Michael Haneke.

Well, what can I say...I have a morbid sense of adventure. lol Yes, Blackstone Chronicles is not for the faint of heart, and has often been compared to "I Have No Mouth" with being so detailed in making people feel sick thinking about what we really did to people, that they couldn't finish playing.

A question to any potential players; have you read the books, or does the game stad by itself to you? I myself read the books first, so the game was a special thing, fit perfectly in with the books, and I cold point out any little things that people who haven't read the books might have missed.

I actually read the series after playing the game. The game can be played on its own, but as I mentioned in a previous thread that Fantsie resurrected back when she first joined the forum:

Yes, I thought the game made much more sense when reading the books, but it can stand alone.

And yes, I know Andrea is a man, a simple typo. Fixed, and I apologize.

Default New adventurer joining in.

Blackstone Chronicles is unknown to me, which is perfect. No matter what the final choice will be though, I'll look for the game and get it.

Is there somebody who notifies the players through a PM or e-mail when a new playthrough is starting? Knowing me, by that time I might not check this board regularly even though it'd be a shame to miss this.

Hello Karrel, and welcome to the forums! No, we don't usually PM people when a new paythrough is happening, but if one is going on, it's always on top of the Adventure threads. If you want, however, I can personally email you when there's another one happening.

Well, we were discussing doing "Blackstone Chronicles" next, but be warned; it's a very unsettling game, about what people really did do in insane asylums to those mentally ill.

Blackstone Chronicles would be great - I bought the game a couple of months ago but haven't played it yet so that would be a good opportunity to finally get to it. I just hope it works on my computer... I remember I had troubles installing it because it is such an old game...

If I have finished GK2 before the start of the new playthrough, I think I might join in Too bad the copy of Blackstone Chronicles we have at home is not actually mine, but my father's, but I guess he won't mind me borrowing it

So, any idea how much time I have left for GK2?

It is an older game, probably out of print. I found my copy on Amazon, but it was about $25.
