Default Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Tue 23 May 2006

Adventure gaming at its best.

Spoiler:
(actually, I sort of enjoyed MoE; yeah, I know, shame on me)

Hey, I loved it! Then again, I didn't have any connection to the other King's Quests, nor did I await for it as an adventure game (or even await for it) and I was rather young, and I have good memories of playing it with my dad for example, but still, I always loved it. Ah, the scenes I remember... What feeling it had!

I always thought it was funny/weird how you could decapitate a chicken by swinging your axe from like 10 ft away.

I never played more than the demo though.

I got lost in the land of the dead and gave up. It isn't that bad a game if you accept it as an action game from the period, but there's some confusing layout and it doesn't really work very well.

It kinda looked like QFG5 for a minute there.

Never played that one. It kinda looks like it was from that era where 3D was brand new, and really, really ugly.

There's some sort of monster, a basilisk I think (the greenish, striped polygons), sticking out of the ground (the brownish stuff is broken rock, or dirt, around its hole). The yellowish stuff is the ground (what? you've never seen yellow rocks like that? Well, neither have I, but I guess Roberta Williams has). And there's a bit of lava on the left.

Honestly, I can't see how you could fail to figure all that out by yourself.

Definitely a great game for its time!(1998) It might not hold up well by today's standards, and it wasn't really an adventure game, but it was still pretty fun. I especially liked the ice world where you get the flame sword and can carve up enemies while burning them; now that was cool!!!

I'm pretty sure no thread of yours was deleted. Are you sure you had submitted it - have you seen it displayed on the forums?

Actually... it was tidied away shortly after it was posted (since this thread already existed). Feel free to post it again tomorrow, Revolver.
