AAARRRGGHHHH!!! NO!!!!!!!!

All I remember about this scene is, hands down, the worst piece of music that my PC speakers have ever played. That and the magic trunk that you have to search every five minutes in case a new item turns up ...

Those three 'women' were my favorite characters in the whole game.

Wow. It really is a beautiful game.

But... well, you know.

Say what you want, I really liked the first two chapters (the ones in the museum and the hospital were the first two, weren't they?). Then, the game remained way too long in this waste land, without any interesting characters (after all, there were only three, really) and any change. But I didn't hate it as much as many seem to here (could shoot them for this 'drop bucket or whatever it was into trough to get out what you dropped in your clumsiness', though).

It's not that I hate Runaway, myself, just that I think it could have been great and ended up bleh.

I agree that the first chapters are good; to me the most disappointing part is the end. The last puzzles are incredibly rushed, and the ending stupid (in my opinion, of course), which makes it hard to forgive the many other flaws, like the uninteresting characters or the silly pixel-hunting and awkward puzzles.

I guess this would be perfect for Machinima since the only good thing is the graphics.

Such georgeous graphics and yet so little of everything else I'm looking forward to Dream of the Turtle though, let's hope they learned something from Runaway (mainly that adventure gamers are suckers for a good story and puzzles rather than jaw dropping cell shaded graphics).

Is there a release date for the english Runaway 2? Is it already out in Germany?

In spite of all its flaws I still I had fun with the first one, and the second has the potential to be great now that the developers have some experience.

What does it have to do with Machinima? Machinima is about a film made in a games 3d engine using live models, programmed moves. Exactly like the introduction to Doom3. You're "supposed" to run the movie in the game's engine, but some studios put out movies in wmv or avi.

I don't see how Runaway falls into the Machinima category at all..?

Is it me or did Monkey Island set the gold standard for adventure game clouds? Perhaps it's some secret unspoken homage to one of the greats. Either that or people just have a lousy imaginations.
