Ordered Grim Fandango.
I'm pretty darn excited. From everything I've heard, this game has lots to look forward to, especially since my adventure collection is very small. After testing out a PC game on my Virtual PC program, which ran excellently, I came to the conclusion it was time to order an adventure game, and Grim Fandago. I've heard so many good things about this game, I think it will be the perfect adventure game to start with. Does anyone agree?

Well, it is the best Adventure game ever made if you don't count Fallout.

Actually the best Adventure ever made is "LOOM", but it's shy. -

I am having a great time playing it. Get thee a game pad though. Manny still does the Cha Cha sometimes but he's much easier to control with a gamepad than with the keyboard. Once you get the hang of getting him around, it goes fine. Also, watch his head movements. I kept trying to maneuver him into the elevator at El Marrow when all I needed to do was wait until he looked at it then press the 'action' button on the game pad (which is the middle top button on the right on mine \/).

Grim Fandango is definitely a must-play story game, as are all of Tim Schafer's games, including Psychonauts.
To answer your question, GF is a fine game to start with IIRC. Even the boss puzzle at the very end isn't all that lateral. There were a couple puzzles that needed better hinting IMO, so don't feel bad if you need to reach for a walkthrough. Let us know what you thought of it. -TimK |

Yeah, Grim Fandango is sublime. I was hooked on it all the way through, you won't regret buying it.
Although it's quite evident that Broken Sword is the finest adventure game ever to grace the industry

Ah, Grim Fandango. One of LucasArts' best.
