I'm itching for a....
good dark 3d-person adventure with surreal undertones. Any recommendations?

Discworld Noir.
Or Psychonauts, if you're liberal in your definition of "adventure game."

Fahrenheit, though its second half is more abnormal than surreal.

Still Life is not as surreal, though.

Thanks for the recommendations guys 'n gals, I shall check out Black mirror and Psychonauts.
I've yet to finish Discworld Noir but It's on my things to do list. Fahrenheit is the greatest 1/4th of an adventure game i've played in years. To bad about the rest of it (the 3/4 ) Still Life was good, but some of the puzzles and voices irritated me and now I'm waiting for a sequle that may well never be. I've finnished Sanitarium about two times now (And am seriusy thinking about begining my third run) Any other suggestions?

I'd say Revelation was pretty dark and surreal, but that only applies to parts of the game. Also it's 1:st person. Great game though

I'm not repelled by first person adventures. It's just that I found the original myst nothing special.
Years since I last tried to begin playing it tough....

Faust, maybe? It's 1st-person, but has little in common with Myst. It's rather peculiar, though, you might want to read a couple of reviews first.
And did I mention that the DVD version has an absolutely horrible bug?

"I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" would fit the bill, I think. Doesn't run in XP, though, and runs horribly slow for me in Dosbox.

Dark Eye. Not quite a game, more of a story to click through, but with a creepy graphical style and atmosphere. A must if you like Edgar Allan Poe. (1st person)
Bad Mojo. If playing as a cockroach isn't surreal, then what is? Awesomely unique (with a single flaw: terrible acting).

And so are Riven and, to a lesser extent, Exile, by the way.

Phantasmagoria II: A Puzzle of Flesh.
I guess it's technically first-person, but there are so many cut-scenes you won't even notice.

No, that's right. You did get a goofy looking picture of Curtis standing around, occasionally twitching uncomfortably. I forgot about that.
