I knew five, four of which were Sierra games.
<-- Sierra junkie Congrats to the winner(s). I think they should have to duke it out. Err... or maybe a tiebreaker question is in order? |

Yep, let's have a tiebreaker question. I know just the one: What's it got in its pocketsesss..? [evil cackle] Okay, okay.... Another game, that's what. No winner should go home empty-handed. So you come up with a final question and the winner gets to choose between the Neverhood and Duckman (both unboxed). Over to you, Tramboissie! |

1) How many prisoners has the AM computer taken to torture them?
5, in "I have no mouth and I must scream" Missed that one, although by some strange coincidence I did answer 5 (wrong game though) 2) Which cowboy has an indian sidekick? Freddy Pharkas, though in fact he is technically a pharmacist, ( Mimus ) check 3) In which game does a Most Infamous Puzzle involve making rain with a butterfly? Discworld check 4) Who is slimy, jumpy, green and fancies being a rock'n'roll star? Green Tentacle, in Maniac Mansion! check (Jaap, I never managed to run Kingdom of Magic so you might be right about Thidney!) 5) How do you secure your treasures in the white house? In zork you put them in the trophy case Missed this one too. Interpreted it as a cryptic way to describe "How do you save in Zork" 6) Which famous text adventure author has a comics author homonym? Scott Adams, 2-words-parser-man check 7) In what game do you have to track a group of dangerous anarchists as a goldfish? Magnetic Scrolls' Fish! check 8) What adventure games were designed with the help of Giger? Darkseed 1 and 2 check 9) Who are you tricking with mandrake root, cat hair, fish oil and porridge? The evil wizard Mannanan in Kin's Quest 3 check 10) In which interactive fiction are you kidnapped in a dirty bar in Ohio by aliens at the beginning? Leather goddesses of Phobos check 11) Which mighty hero with a fiery green companion nonetheless has to tidy his bedroom and go to school? Willy Beamish check 12) Put back these irritating robots in their original games (and close the lid) : Floyd, Marvin, Joey and Arthur Planetfall, Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, Beneath a steel sky, and The Journeyman Projects check (though Fienepien likes Floyd!) 13) Whose hand is giving Zanthia a bad time? Hand of Fate, or Marco's hand (or Bal Rom's hand according to Richard) check 14) In which adventure spy game do you have the opportunity to pilot a submarine? Codename Iceman, though you went in a submarine in Indy 4 and Operation Stealth too check 15) Who is the the last of the Ritters? Gabriel(, or its son? ) check |

And both Arthur and Joey were great, incidentally. To quote Legacy of Time: Arthur! They call him Arthur! He was an artificial intelligence that was cool. Artificial as soap. Artificial as rope. Artificial! Artificial! (fades out on the song) |

Here comes the tiebreaker!
What is the size (in bytes) of Quizz.txt on my desktop? The nearest wins! And, thanks to Fienepien, the other one can still have a free game! Ain't life beautiful?

My mistakes:
4) Who is slimy, jumpy, green and fancies being a rock'n'roll star? I totally forgot about the green tentacle, however i knew Kingdom O Magic has this green lizard character Thidney, and there was an Elvis statue in the game, so I figured it was about Thidney. 7) In what game do you have to track a group of dangerous anarchists as a goldfish? I didn't have a clue and my google searches didn't help me, so I chose the only fishy adventure I knew: the fish files. It has a conspiracy in it though, but the wrong one 13) Whose hand is giving Zanthia a bad time? I got this one right, but i thought it was a trick-question. That the game was Hand of Fate was for me very easy, however to figure out to whom this giant hand really belongs is very hard. I knew that Zanthia first encounters the hand together with Marcus, but somewhere in the game there is an animation of the true origin of that Hand. I thought it was some evil wizard, but didn't know the name "Bal Rom". But it was a very nice quizz!! Jaap

I did actually google successfully for number 7, and found out that it was Fish, but as I'm very honest, I didn't add it. Never played the game... |

(And you should play some Magnetic Scrolls games, even with a walkthrough)

Save every twenty-five turns or so. But apart from that, they're really good games. And hard. I remember Fish! as the least unforgiving of the lot (or maybe that was Wonderland?) and not really hard. |

Tramboi, how do you want your answer to the extra question served? Email, PM or right here?

I protest. Voodoo's too good looking to be winning and playing computer games! Just look at his avatar or ask Trep.
I did alright. I think I ended up getting 11 questions right. I also missed the Green Tentacle. Maniac Mansion wasn't even in my radar! I missed Scott Adams as well. I can't believe Scott Adams didn't occur to me. I'm so ashamed. Congrats to the two winners by the way. And bog thanks to Fienpien and Tramboi. It was super fun. We should do this again. In fact, I'm willing to donate a game just so that we can give the contest another go. Maybe we should try to make this a regular feature of the AG forum? |

Yay!
I sent you a PM with my guess, Tramboi. And I'd like to thank Fienepien for the unexpected extra prize for the second place. Also: that was great fun! Actually, when I have some time, I may prepare a similar quizz myself.

After a thorough analysis of the propositions of our competitors by our team of rocket scientists, it appears that our Ageless, Faceless, Gender Neutral, Culturally Ambiguous Adventurer Person is closer than Voodoo FX on the Tie-Breaker question (The answer was 2011 but who cares?)
So let's all congratulate both of them, and let them share the booty!
