But the competition is still open!

(Even those who have already answered can resend better/more complete answers mails)

ah. c'mon people, surely there's no reason not to enter. You never know, you could win with only one correct answer...

I already own it, or I would answer. Better to leave it for someone who doesn't.

I was in a shop buying lunch yesterday and they had a bowl out for a drawing. You were supposed to put in your business card and the drawing would take place on the first of every month. There were only like two cards in there. I couldn't bring myself to put mine in, knowing I'd have a 1 in 3 chance of winning. I felt guilty.

haha, that's kind of cute*! They'd probably been cleaning out the bowl every half hour, so people looking at it thought they'd stand a good chance if they threw their card in.

*but yeah, kind of too

Wait till after the drawing and put your card in the bowl the day after tomorrow. And see what happens! You can always remove your card later...

Hey Emily, why not answering and leave the prize for the second best if you win?

PS : The last day of the month, steal the cards of the other people and just leave yours. That will increase your winning probability

If you ask me, that's just another way of getting people's information, like phone number, email address, next thing you know, you're bombarded with phone surveys, junk emails, date offers, etc. No, thank you.

Yes, I'm a very paranoid person

Yes, but all the info on my business card is my work info, and I don't really care if I get spammed there.

Once I dropped my card in the bowl at a burrito shop and won burritos, chips, and salsa for 20.

That would require an awful lot of work for no prize. I'm lazy that way.

On the other hand, you feel too guilty to do almost no work for some prize.

So what kind of competition would you be prepared to enter?

I want to deserve the win. Which means both working hard AND getting the prize.

I think my mother dropped me when I was a baby.

And then she jumped on you. I should know, that's what my mother did, too, and I'm exactly like you in this regard.

First I'd like to thank : Mimus, NevelChevolek, Jaap, AFGNCAAP, Richard, PolloDiablo, Gillyruless and VoodoFX for playing!

Here are the answers :
1) How many prisoners has the AM computer taken to torture them?
5, in "I have no mouth and I must scream"
2) Which cowboy has an indian sidekick?
Freddy Pharkas, though in fact he is technically a pharmacist, ( Mimus )
3) In which game does a Most Infamous Puzzle involve making rain with a butterfly?
Discworld
4) Who is slimy, jumpy, green and fancies being a rock'n'roll star?
Green Tentacle, in Maniac Mansion!
(Jaap, I never managed to run Kingdom of Magic so you might be right about Thidney!)
5) How do you secure your treasures in the white house?
In zork you put them in the trophy case
6) Which famous text adventure author has a comics author homonym?
Scott Adams, 2-words-parser-man
7) In what game do you have to track a group of dangerous anarchists as a goldfish?
Magnetic Scrolls' Fish!
8) What adventure games were designed with the help of Giger?
Darkseed 1 and 2
9) Who are you tricking with mandrake root, cat hair, fish oil and porridge?
The evil wizard Mannanan in Kin's Quest 3
10) In which interactive fiction are you kidnapped in a dirty bar in Ohio by aliens at the beginning?
Leather goddesses of Phobos
11) Which mighty hero with a fiery green companion nonetheless has to tidy his bedroom and go to school?
Willy Beamish
12) Put back these irritating robots in their original games (and close the lid) : Floyd, Marvin, Joey and Arthur
Planetfall, Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, Beneath a steel sky, and The Journeyman Projects
(though Fienepien likes Floyd!)
13) Whose hand is giving Zanthia a bad time?
Hand of Fate, or Marco's hand (or Bal Rom's hand according to Richard)
14) In which adventure spy game do you have the opportunity to pilot a submarine?
Codename Iceman, though you went in a submarine in Indy 4 and Operation Stealth too
15) Who is the the last of the Ritters?
Gabriel(, or its son? )

And VoodoFX and AFGNCAAP have it all correct, though the others come real close!
(Special mention to Richard who proves that SOME journalists DO know some stuff about adventure games!)

Now we have a tie!
Fienepien, how do we resolve this situation, dear?
