Default They are hurting my friends. Please, help me spread the word.

The second part of the recovered tape is made available. It gets much worse from now on. I’m not sure if I should show you the rest... Is this enough to convince you that the rumors about Hanwell Mental Institute are real? Look closely and pay attention: this is what they did to my friend. They did it to me as well. And you.

I may not be able to continue with this. You should spread the word.

Hello, Lenny, and welcome to AG. I see by your profile that you are one of our older members, but we won't hold that against you. What is the name of your friend in the tape?

Please continue with us and don't be frightened, we won't hurt you. Group therapy can be very beneficial, under the right conditions. We will definitely spread the word for you, so please visit us often.

This "lhuntings" guy sounded so sincere and the video patient so disturbed, I've been letting this go so far, but now I have my doubts. Email sent out today on official Hanwell Institute letterhead with the following:

Quote:
Dear Sirs,

I am writing this public letter on behalf of the Hanwell Mental Institute, in the hope that it will clarify a distressing and misleading situation that came to light at the beginning of June. A person by the name of "Leonard Huntings" has been offering a series of video recordings and attempting to pass them as actual archive material from the institute. The Internet website in question that I am referring to is located at http://www.youtube.com/user/lhuntings

We claim absolutely no connection to these outrageous videos. More so, we suspect this "Leonard Huntings" is a nickname used by the perpetrator, who has not the courage to use his real name. We never admitted patients by the names of Leonard Huntings or Bertrand Laroche, who seems to be subject of the videos. Thus, we are dismissing this stunt as nothing else than juvenile efforts to tarnish the good image of our institute. Authorities have been alerted and I trust the aforementioned Internet website will be disabled shortly.

I sincerely thank you for your time and I'm truly sorry to see you being bothered by this childish event.

Yours Truly,
Signature

This game's going to have to be good after all of this hype. Saturating the specialist forums with this bumf will create a lot of anticipation but also a lot of expectation. A good product needs to be delivered at the end of it.

Scratches was so-so; good ideas with some game-cripplingly bad game and graphic design. I would say that something like a 300 percent improvement on that game is required to deliver on the hype and promises that it looks like we're going to have to endure with this game.

Eagerly anticipating the third thread dedicated to this game, or even better, Heaven forbid, some actual substance to justify this loud promotion.

One final point:

Pastiching Lovecraft is cringingly easy, thousands do it, actually coming up with material that is as good as his original stories less so.

Geez, rain on our parade, why don'tcha? A lot of members of this forum hold Scratches (and Lovecraft) very near and dear to our hearts and we look forward to Agustin's next adventure more than you could ever know. And I don't think this is necessarily a "loud" promotion - one thread with a handful of posts is not what I would consider "loud".

Do you consider this spam a bright type of marketing? It has already started to annoy me.

it's hardly spam when it's on topic and isn't flooding. as for whether it's effective marketing, it's pretty clear that it is. it's stirred up interest here (just because you're not interested doesn't mean the other people who've posted in the threads aren't) and on youtube

Well said. I'm tired of negative comments in threads by people who aren't interested anyway.

What exactly is 'on topic'? Ramblings? Not flooding? Wait and see
