Default Cirque De Zale

I found out about this amateur game reading the latest issue of the Inventory. http://www.justadventure.com/TheInve...Inventory.shtm Read their review (review of the mont, beating out Syberia 2! BWAH!), as mine is kind of a gripe about theirs. If you're too lazy to read it, lemme just say that it's about a shite-pile-clean-up boy in circus, who plays a prank on his boss involving elephantine amounts of poopoo. He then gets transported into a different dimension as punishment, and sets out to start his own circus.

On to the gripes:

1. The Inventory said that the puzzles were simple, you always knew what you had to do next, and most puzzles involved doing something for someone so they'd do something in return...I say, how is that good? Practically only one type of puzzles present, and all incredibly easy! I wasn't challenged at all.

2. They said that they enjoyed the game so much, that when it ended, they wanted more...I say, how is that a good thing? I call that unfullfilled expectations. For all the humor & wit in the game, the ending was rushed, and a huge let-down.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the humor, the characters, the graphics, and the plot, but I expected the puzzles to get harder, and at the end, I had a "that was it?!" feeling. Grade? 6.5/10

I applaud the lone author for the effort. I just hope she gets together with more people, and they're able to make a larger, more complex project the next time.

Dowload it, if you will, for the short-lived fun of it all, @ http:www.anime.com.au/Katt/misc/cirque.zip

I'd definitely rate this game higher than a 6.5. For a freeware amateur effort, I make certain concessions regarding length and so forth. I understand your complaints, but for me I just had a blast playing the game. The humor was great, the character was well-written, and those were obviously the goals (and achievements) of the creator. The easy puzzles didn't really get in the way of that. But it seems like you enjoyed it overall, so hooray!

Weell, I was thinking about giving it a seven, but I wanted to express my malcontent more expicitly. You're right, all things considered...

And BTW, one thing I forgot to put in my review: have you noticed the talk animations for all the characters? They never nod their head forward or backward, but just move it on a straight line, left & right. I remember laughing & thinking, "It looks like they're saying 'NO YOU DIDN'TTT!" with the black-chick body language that comes with it. hilarious!

Gah, why the hell do I even bother?!

I reviewed this game a few weeks ago, here, AND there was a news post announcing its release.

When I playd the game, I was glad to find out that there was someone who's sense of humour is even worse than mine.

(That someone is the creator of Cirque de Zale.)

If the puzzles are so simple, I must be really bad at adventure games. Or there is some location I haven't found yet. Oh, now I remember. I am bad at adventure games, but love them anyway. Could still be some location I haven't found though.

I have these things in my inventory:

Spoiler:
Wolf head, hairy doll, pentagram drawing book, fishing rod.

Oh well, I'll try more later...
