A New Beginning Crash!

Hey guys and gals

Having problems

Playing ANB I got to Chapter 1, I clicked to get closer to the time capsule and then clicked on the storage box between the seats then the game froze and I got an error message ANB.exe has stopped working? Only bad thing is I hadn't saved Argggggggggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!

I'm on Chapter 2 and unfortunately the game has already crashed four or five times, in the same way as you've described. It seems to happen mainly when the character portraits appear at the top of the screen during dialogue. The only consolation is that the game seems to autosave often (maybe on entering every room?) so if you click Continue when you restart then you shouldn't have lost too much...

I've had the same. The game kept crashing at the same moment, every time. I use windows 7 and changed the compatability modus to windows xp and that works

I remember the Whisperd World (same developer) had the same problems..

Just finished chapter 1 on XP – stopping temporarily at beginning of chapter 2 due to other much more urgent stuff.No crashes or other bugs.
Got tons of saves throughout chapter 1. If anybody needs email me and describe exactly where since each is about 1.3 MB.

I'm stuck in the middle of chapter 5.
IBent has to talk to Barney through the intercom but he can't since Duve won't l;et him use it.
I checked with the Walkthrough andn AFAIK I've done everything leading up to this.
The walkthrough says:-
"Intercom: Remember that Duve didn't want Bent to use the intercom. He is waiting for a call.
Use the intercom and call Barney's office first. Talk to Barney."

But it doesn't work - I can't contact Barney.
I guess I've missed something - but what?
P.S. In Inventory I've got the lab coat the algae sample and the orange towel

One of the truisms of Quest/Adventure playing stuckness.

When stuck & cried for help you nearly always solve the problem yourself before any help can arive.

In this case I had missed the fact that there was a SECOND intercom downstairs in the lab.
P.S. I didn't see this in the walkthrough !!! (
