ran extension
Some time ago a freeware game was reviewed on the forum. It had a zip download and a ran executable. When I attempted to run it, it didn't, and I posted that problem to the review. That review, which I wanted to retrieve, has apparently scrolled.
Anyway, I believe it was Jackal, who posted a ran utility. I would like to have that reposted. Those that I find via Google all come with the "let me scan your system" caveats, which I am not willing to allow. I trust you guys, and girls, to point me in the right direction. I think the utility was named winrun, but I'm not sure. Am running a WinXP system. Thanks. I think the game reviewed was Marionette. (sp?) I looked for the review in REVIEWS hoping I would find the appended messages there. But didn't find the review.

Ah, you're talking about .rar files. The program you want is a very common one called WinRAR. Here's one place to download it.
By the way, the Marionette review is still on page one of our Freeware section. |
