What exactly are you trying to write on the tomb? I don't know how accurate it should be, but I guess that if you miss a keypoint in the sentence it is wrong and rubbed off.
Or maybe you are using a wrong character somewhere?
Or maybe you wrote one of the words wrong?

That was one of the most ridiculous puzzles ever invented. I never figured out how you should know exactly what to write on there. I needed a walkthrough for it every time I played the game.

Well, I played this game more than 10 years ago, so my memory of it might be not exact 100%. However, I searched its walkthrough on internet, and they said that you could type as follows: "DJ bring sekey madoule". G'd luck, then

Unfortunately, this does not seem to work (at least for me).

I'm stuck on this same puzzle. I have consulted several different walkthroughs, and searched for hours online, but I cannot find the "correct" message that I'm supposed to write anywhere. I've tried the above, as well as "DJ CONCLAVE TONIGHT BRING SEKEYE MADOULE" (as was suggested elsewhere), and several other things I can think of, but none of them work. Gabriel simply keeps erasing the message.

I'm almost starting to think that I messed up somewhere, and this is a bug.
I'm on day 6, in case its important (a lot of walkthroughs imply that the message should be written on day 5, but the day ended before I managed to do so).

I've read through various walkthroughs, and followed them step by step up to this point, to check whether I've missed anything, but I seem to have done everything (although not always in the same order), and still Gabriel refuses to write the message on the tomb wall.

I really don't know what to do anymore. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did you remember to put something in the sekey madoule before writing the message?

I played this game about 2 weeks back, and if I'm not mistaken I consulted the walkthroughs and found out I needed to add a word that the walkthrough I looked at had left out. But this might have possibly been for
Spoiler:
the deciphering of the drummers code over at the fountain.

Either way I think Little Writer has a point

@Little Writer

Thank you! You were right.

For some reason I thought that was something I had to do after I'd written the message >_<

Wow, that was one hell of a frustrating puzzle, but at least I can finally move on now

No problem. Call again if you need more help

I actually had this problem myself once during a replay, then I noticed Gabriel actually says something different if you mess up the message itself, or write it correctly but at the wrong time.

In the end, it's pretty logical. Suppose you write the message and DJ reads and acts upon it before you have the chance to tamper with the object in question. Dead end.
