Having the exact same problem as you, would love it if someone know how to fix it!

Take it you are running Vista too?

My brother has that issues on Windows XP with SP2, he got the issue after he got a GeForce 8 card. I have no issues with this game, apart from that I have to lower the acceleration on my soundcard. I have a GeForce 7 card, though, so it could be that the game won't work with GeForce 8 cards too(if you got one of those).

I get that problem when I get into the hackers room early in the game. Before that part the game is fine. Sometimes it happens quickly after I get in and sometimes I can walk further into the room. Then there is a looping sound and a black screen and I have to restart.

i run Win XP pro (Medie center edition) i have no problem running BS-The angle of death just completed that a while ago... and you would think that if its a issue with SP2 then they would have made a patch for that by now?

Had a problem on running bs3pc.exe, keep crashing my windows XP. Solution was to lower sound acceleration from dxdiag (Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> ok -> sound tab).
I guess Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty is not compatible with the game.
Other cmp specs AMD 3200+, Nvidia 6800 GT... game runs just fine now.

How much did you lower the sound acceleration?

you must go to the pilot's cabin and try to wake a pilot.
first you can see a crate near the door. move the crate
into the other part of a plane to make a balance. and
than go to the cabin, you should take fire extinguisher
and try to break a window forward in airplane, but first
you must awake the pilot, so use the opener on a beer,
and than give a beer to a pilot. he will awake soon, and
then i think you can manage to leave the cabin.

feel free to ask, if you stuck again in some part of game
