help stuck in brokensword 4 in sewer

i have tried for days and days to get the valves to work in the sewer in broken sword 4 and cant seem to do it. I have 2 walkthrus and they dont seem to be of any help. I would like some one to send me a save to get over the valves or explanine in detail how to get thru this problem
need a better walkthru

Start from the beginning of that puzzle, and keep making the water flow down, but not to the point wer it spurts out. i did it in about 20 seconds yesterday, its easy once you get the hang of it?
