Nevermind, I managed to find a save and replayed the thing. Did things in the right order this time.
Leaving this as a reference to a gamestopping endbug.

Oh my. It seems I messed up.

The last thing you are supposed to do in the game is:
1. Place the Portrait on the Cabinet
2. Give Fish Cream Sandwich to Voice of Reason
3. Place the Portrait on the Cabinet

Well, did 1 and 2 in reversed order, and stupid as I was I saved over my savegame. Now the Voice of Reason want a Sandwich again (that I already gave him). Problem is that since I already fixed the machine and got my first sandwich the Cream Sandwich Machine wont take more cream/eel/seeds so I cannot produce another Sandwich to give him.
