Hi. I'm not sure this will solve your problem, but did you try using XP's compatibility mode? Right-click on the game's shortcut and apply compatability for Windows '98.

Are your sound drivers up-to-date? Precisely what sounds are scratchy, music or voices? And does this error occur everywhere and at all time or is it more random?

Use VDMSound, that usually takes care of scratchy audio. It should be easy to find on Google.

Yes my drivers are ok. The problem is weird. When i start the game there seems to be no problem but after 10-15 minutes , especially in dialoges sound becomes scratchy. Then the music too.

You're right, it is. I forgot QfG5 is a Windows game. Sorry about that.

There are a few other things you can try, but I'm totally unfamiliar with this bug so these are wild guesses;

- Set compatibility mode to Windown 95 instead of 98/ME.
- Make sure there are no programs running in the background.
- Reinstall the game.

Also, did you ask your question at these forums?
