Default Chitluns, Whiskey and Skirt

Some of you probably remember this hilarious western/country ballad from the game Full Throttle. It's first played in Todd's trailer near the beginning of the game. I'm looking for a way to get this song in a playable format from the cd version of the game. My guess is that's it's hidden somewhere in some strange file format in the DATA directory or in FT.LA1. Either way, I can't get to it. Does anyone know something about ScummVM data formats?

A soundtrack for Full Throttle was never released as far as I know, so that's a dead end as well. I did the test and couldn't find anything on filesharing networks, so my guess is that nobody ever attempted to extract the song before.

*edit*
After making this post, I discovered a website (http://scumm.mixnmojo.com/) with the link to Scumm Revisited, a program that let me peek inside those Scumm files. After browsing through all the files and looking in the logical places (room entry in which the music is played) I still haven't found the music . Any ideas?

I don't know how to extract the song but you might as well consider
redirecting sound output to your soundcard's input and record it.
Virtual Audio Cable seems a natural choice if you don't want to bother
with wires. Haven't tried it myself but it should work.

The music should be stored in monster.sou, which ScummRev should be able to explore. Can't you find it there?

That file is incredibly huge, and a search on any of the relevant words doesn't give any useful results. I guess it's indeed stored in there, but it appears to be impossible to find.

Use GAP then (on monster.sou), and sort the files it finds by size, so that you can distinguish the songs from the sound effects.

I don't know where FT keeps it, but you can download the MP3 from plenty of places. It's called 'The Apocalypse' though.

Managed to extract the file from FT.LA1 using GAP. Thanks a lot for the tip! I have no idea where it was actually stored in that file and I probably would never have found it with ScummRev. Converting the wav to mp3 is another story. If you happen to know a website where I can download the mp3, please do tell.

Audacity is your friend!

And isn't the song called "Increased Chances"?

Does anyone know the name of the artist who does the "Chitluns, Whiskey and Skirt" song?
Is it available to buy on cd?

Thanks for the info.
I've been in love with this song ever since i first heard it in Full Throttle.
Would love to get my hands on the cd, if there is one.
