Default Jack Orlando Directors Cut stürzt bei Intro ab / crashes during intro

Exception at EIP=$0046F3E2: *ACCESS VIOLATON*
while attempting to write new memory at $022F3000

Mein System:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
Windows XP mit SP2
1024MB DDR-400 RAM
Geforce 6600GT

Vielen Dank für Tips und Hinweise!

Welcome to the forum.

Hopefully someone who understands German (?) will be able to help. You might also try posting your question at Adventure Treff (a German site).

In case anyone is able to help, the request is (more or less ) about Jack Orlando quitting to desktop during the intro, just after the scene with Jack saving the kid*. It gives the following error message:

Exception at EIP=$0046F3E2: *ACCESS VIOLATON*
while attempting to write new memory at $022F3000

And the last paragraph are system specs.

*By the way, I can't remember that scene at all. Then again, this is a game I'd like to forget entirely.

Sorry everybody, I kind of forgot it was an English-speaking board.

AFGNCAAP translated my problem very well: Jack Orlando DC crashes to the desktop during the intro, after Jack replied "no problem" to the mother of a drowning kid he saved (it´s part of his better-times memories, the part with the spinning newspapers).

that error message is displayed:
Exception at EIP=$0046F3E2: *ACCESS VIOLATON*
while attempting to write new memory at $022F3000

system specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
Windows XP mit SP2
1024MB DDR-400 RAM
Geforce 6600GT
(just ask if I missed any important specs)

@AFGNCAAP: Thanks for translating the post!

I don't know the game but I can recall getting the same error message
for fairly recent fps style games like VTM Bloodlines and HF2.
First I suspected that it was a copy protection issue but it was not;
I tampered with virtual memory settings and it solved the problem.
Perhaps it will help in this case, too.

Try two things:
1. disabling swapfile completely or if it doesn't help,
2. setting a permanent swapfile (1500 megabytes)

Since I had already set the swapfile to a fixed size of about 1500MB I tried to have Windows manage the virtual memory or to disable it, but unfortunately both didn´t work =(
