ECHO secrets of the lost cavern (talking to toar)

I cant seem to get the indian at the fire pit to give me the bowl and other things. Can anyone help me with this? I have my fish already

I've caught the fish, picked up everything I can find in the area by the river. Toar is sitting there and speaks to me. However, when I click to talk back, the text goes red, and there is no sound.

I can't seem to get past this point.
