- Golf gets knocked off.. by another sport *sigh* and there's another one at no3.. with all these sports games selling its just as well revolution decided to make BS3 a tennis game. Will be interesting to see how Fifa 2004 does.. The first Pro Evo Soccer outsold Fifa it because it was a far better game and konami's ISS series had been slowly catching up with fifa in terms of sales and fanbase over the posne's lifespan.. But PES2 didnt really add much while Fifa 2003 probably still wasnt good, but it was different and had progressed.. and thrashed PES2.. But PES3 is supposedly better.. and then there is the sub-plot battle of the also rans between Club Football and Sony's This Is Football series...

- Pro Evolution Soccer 3 has had the 6th biggest selling first week in the UK.

- The Gamecube is back! Super Mario Sunshine at no29!!!! sales up again!! (bearing in mind most of this year its sold less than 1,000 a week.. last week it went to 4,500 this week its above 10,000).

- Gamecube is now outselling the xbox 2:1. And this is without any new releases for the console!!! The PS2 is outselling the GC 4:1, the PS2 is very close to 5,000,000 units sold in the UK.

- Dredd Vs Death.. another big budget high profile flop for rebellion shame they cant quite recreate their Alien Vs Preditor days..

- Shame on all the fools buying finding nemo!! and Crash Bandecoot is STILL in the charts *gargh* EyeToy is still top 5 and Conflict Desert Storm 2 is doing a lot better than expected too..

- Jak 2 does okay considering the lack of promotion and general backlash over the change in style. Will be interesting to see if sales can hold up or if it will just fade away after a few weeks like most sony titles.

- The N-gage has sold less than 5,000 units in the USA, and still hasnt sold 1,000 units in the UK. Bit of a flop then :/

It seems to be popular with "one game per football-club"-games. I just noticed a new manager game with that principle (see http://www.justfootball.net/). Why would one want to buy those? Isn't it better to buy a game where you can play several different clubs, so what does those games offer in addition to "normal" games?

I dunno what the manager game is like but with club football, every version is the same game and features all teams and everything.. but you buy the one with your fave club on the front of the box, and there are a few extra's, stats and other stuff for each version.

Its basically a way to give extra attention to a game that would otherwise struggle for sales and attention.. Also if your a die fan of one of the clubs your more likely to buy a version with their logo strapped across the front, or thats what codemasters think anyway..

Seems more like they sell club merchandising than a game.

People really don't have a reason for NOT buying a Gamecube now. It's so fucking cheap! And when it gets more titles on it, there'll be even more reason to buy it.

Over here they have slashed the price of the cube at least 4 times. Its now less than 1/3rd the price of the Xbox ($99AUS). Getting games for the system is a bloody nightmare with so many stores being extremely lax in stocking product. With a couple of nice exclusives on the cube, and the cube its self the same price as a GAME on the Xbox, lots of people have picked up the cube as a little Xbox game-release-lag backup.

The Zelda pack is £100 here (around $150US) - still insanely cheap (three games?), so with Psychonauts being all delayed, one of them will be making its way to my house shortly - despite someone on #ag trying to convince me that a PC fulfills all your gaming needs. Heh...

Well, I can't stand sports games, and I don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with them, for one thing. Also, notice how KotOR isn't even on the charts this week. The game came out, what, 4 weeks ago?

Is it so hard to imagine that some people like a sports game? *I* find that much easier at least than playing some iteration of star wars games.

There is no need to look down on people for liking some specific genres. That is snobbism.
