Kreia is frustrating, being so firmly rooted in non-allignment, because she busts your balls no matter which extreme of the path you take. Senseless violence = bad! acts of kindness = bad! Although she seems to favor the light side path, as those are the times I've been able to get more out of her. What's funny is, if you have good influence with someone, they can become dark side, but still bitch about the evil things you do. I like the appearance changes, though. Goth Handmaiden? Rawr. And Baodur's new tats are much cooler. Anyway, I think the Sith side of the game got shortchanged the most.

I beat KOTOR with the fan restoration mod recently (witch might be only in English so far, not sure if that is a problem, be sure to install all the patches as well). I found it much more enjoyable than the first game. The story flowed a lot better and it was much more than just a intergalactic fetch quest like KOTOR 1 felt like. The only bad part was the ending, and the fact that it felt like a middle of the series; like they made it with KOTOR 3 in mind.
Still highly enjoyable. |

Both KoTOR Games are masterpieces regardless of negative comments you may see or some of the aesthetic questions that may come up, remember that these games were made pre the Next Gen Graphcis engines and both Bioware and Obsidian were working with what was available at the time, plus major file type changes happened during development. And there were scheduling and release problems with both games resulting in significant elements of both games NOT being included in the final releases. This was not the fault of anyone or any part of the process in particular really tho it was a LucasArts Decisoin in both cases. We do not blame Leonardo Da Vinci for any flaws in the Mona Lisa, for it is a masterpiece as are both of these titles.
Due to wonderful and dedicated work by community teams much of this lost content has been restored or is available in mods to add back to both games. Here, first of all, is the info on that update and restoration mod that is mentioned above that restores KoTOR II The Sith Lords to its fullest glory yet available, another mod restoration project by Team Gizka is delayed in release and may not be out for some time. This one, TSL Restored Content Mod 1.4 is ready and fully playable tho it is still being improved. Here is the info: Knights of the Old Republic 2 The Sith Lords RESTORATION MODS AND PATCHES Official Patches: http://www.filefront.com/listing/pub...ficial-Patches Official Patch 1.0a Official Patch 1.0b TSL Patch (U.S. Version) (1.0b) Filename: sw_pc_english_from200424_to210427.exe http://www.filefront.com/3845913/KOT...s-v1.0b-patch/ Official Music Patch (makes the music in game stero) http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filef...te_Patch;52024 Official Movie Patch 6 parts (upgrades the movies in game to higher quality) http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filef...h_Part_2;52018 TSL_Restored_Content_Mod http://swmod.com/mods/All_current_patches_tslrcm.rar This latest link contains patches a-d and is the latest as of Nov 09 IMPORTANT NOTE! THE INSTALL WILL FAIL IF THIS IS NOT DONE FIRST! 1) The following files in the "Modules" folder, located here "C: \Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\Modules" by default must have "Read-only" unchecked for the installer to function properly: 211TEL_dlg.erf 401DXN_s.rim 401DXN_dlg.erf 702KOR_dlg.erf 702KOR_s.rim 853NIH_s.rim The following files are located in the LucasArts\SWKotor2\lips folder 301NAR_loc.mod 303NAR_loc.mod 601DAN_loc.mod 602DAN_loc.mod 605DAN_loc.mod 610DAN_loc.mod To do this quickly right click on the "Modules" folder and select "Properties". Under the "General" tab near the bottom uncheck "Read-only" and click the "Apply" button (if "Read-only" was not checked skip to step 2). A new window will pop up. Select "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files" and click OK. Patch 1.4a http://www.deadlystream.com/download...id=13&act=down Patch 1.4b http://www.deadlystream.com/download...id=15&act=down Patch 1.4b fix http://www.deadlystream.com/download...id=16&act=down Patch 1.4c http://www.deadlystream.com/download...id=17&act=down Patch 1.4d see link of combined patches above And you can Add the following Restoration Mods for the most complete Restoration Package: Prolog_Peragus_Harbinger_Issues.rar 1.1 sions_arrival_fix_2_0 nihilus_tobin You can download a package of these here: http://www.filefront.com/14782247/Add-to-TSLRC.rar/ Each of these mods has read me's to instruct installation. Best proceedure is to install the game, then patch with official patches 1.0b and the music and video patches if you want them, then add the Restored Content mod, and its patches and then these final ones if you want them. Enjoy and may the force be with you. And if you are playing on XP dont forget to add the following line to the game INI in the main KoTOR II folder: Under Graphics Options, add this line: Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1 Otherwise the game will likely not start as for the full restoration story for both games and other restoration projects released or underway for other classic Star Wars games: This is part of a wave of revivals and restorations and upgrades of classic Star Wars games underway currently across the community that supports SW: this is a list of some of the projects in process or completed: Knights of the Old Republic I http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=184979 Knights of the Old Repulic The Sith Lords http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=199929 Both games are now quite restored compared to what they were out of the box. And TSL has had a great new project come out that includes most of the possible restorations in one pack, TSL Restored Content Mod. We have had some luck getting inforomation on KoTOR I from the orginal development team as well, and that is included in the threads that will detail the possible restorations for that game and what is available. Now is the challenging news for colsole player, these are mods for PC, and you will have to dig for info on X Box, I have never played a console and probably never will, sorry to say. But i understand they have their charms and are fun. But I remain a loyal PC player and research and support only PC. There are also restoration projects for the following games: Jedi Knight JKE Jedi Knight Enhanced http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=197060 Star Wars X Wing (almost done) actually two projects for this one Spanish Edition of X Wing Updated: http://es.geocities.com/xwingredux/ (this site also has a great library of missions, ships and other info) Projects to update in English: http://www.xwaupgrade.com/ Go to Lucas Arts Games Section of Fourm and find X Wing Redux in English Thread Star Wars TIE Fighter (Also almost done, TFTC was done but only did the first half of the missions, this is being completed) TFTC http://www.darksaber.pnma.co.uk/ find Craft Packs in the left hand navigation list and then scroll down to Tie Fighter Total Conversion links. Forum: http://linx310.proboards.com/index.cgi Newest Version of Waylon's TFTC Expansion: Missions 8-13 http://www.sendspace.com/file/bgzbgu Missile boat Patch: http://www.sendspace.com/file/16867h The last TIE Fighter score which is missing in Imperial XWA and TFTC: http://rapidshare.com/files/13265621...k'LeyrTarg Star Wars X Wing Alliance This project is done and done very well with much improved ships and in game objects, XWU Project and forum http://www.xwaupgrade.com/ All of these projects are in total support of LucasArts and all require that you own authentic and legal copies of the original games or they will not work. And LucasArts may themselves release some of the classic games on Steam, some have already come out and it is not known if they plan more or what specifically. The entire Star Wars series of games is a remarkable and unique story cycle and if you perservere with KoTOR II and really dig deep into all the dialogue and plot and be sure to add the restored content, it will be a great experience. There is a lot of replay fun to be had by chosing a diffent path as well. Enjoy and May the Force be with you. And yes there was/is a KoTOR III in mind, and the makers of the original KoTOR series are still interested in making it. Just a matter of time i suspect, and fate and many other factors. We WILL have a new KoTOR universe game soon with the new LucasArts MMORPG based in that universe currently in development by Bioware.
