Ever play NES games while drunk?
Hey, Deshrill here... Has anyone ever played a NES game while drunk? My friends and I did, although some were more drunk than others. We formed teams and played through 15 games against each other in a tournament style match-up. See turbo-charged music-video style intros! Hear the drunken rantings of college kids with nothing better to do! Laugh as you've never laughed before!
I am editing a documentary on this "NES Challenge" for E-Boredom and it's viewable online in small parts under a meg each. It's compressed with WMV and the XVid MPEG-4 Codec. The video quality is horrendous, but it makes up for it with the small file size for dial-up connections. If you want to see a segment or two of this documentary, check out the link below. I'm not done editing yet, but I'm past the halfway mark. Post comments, if desired. The NES Challenge Documentary

Not NES. But I loved to play a shoot'em'up while I was absolutely drunk. Aero Fighters, above them all.

Big deal, even chewing broken glass will seem fun while you are drunk...

PC Zone UK had an article on drunk gaming, and whether it increases skill, a few months back, where they got their writers to play various games at various levels of drunkenness. The generus concensus was that being a bit drunk actually helps, but total mashedness makes you play poorly.

Interesting, AGA...
While I wouldn't know about chewing broken glass, being drunk does tend to do that to you, yes... The real question is, would every person that was drunk want to make a documentary about the experience?

I'm pretty sure Contra was actually developed to be played while drunk.

I never game while drunk. But I did have sessions when I sipped vodka martinis or gin gimlets while playing No One Lives Forever. It was a very appropriate thing to do.

On the topic of getting drunk while playing the NES, for the tournament I played Mike Tyson's Punch Out while buzzed (after a pint of Guiness) and did quite poorly against Bald Bull and his Bull Charge...

It's all about memorizing the patterns/locations of enemies along with a bit of luck and good reflexes, but then again, most action games are about that kind of thing anyway!

Probotector is the European version of Contra, right?
The only diffference is that you are playing robots instead of people... They are also less violent, I think.
