Am I turning into a Sony Fanboy?!
Today I decided to buy myself a white psp, as seen here:
along with 2 games, Tekken DR & LocoRoco: Im really think now is the perfect time for anyone to buy a PSP, theres quality games out now like Sid Meier's Pirates!, Wipeout Pure, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, Daxter, Burnout Legends, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, LocoRoco, Mega Man Powered Up etc. But there are a big share of broken & dissapointing games but I think now that the psp has 2-3 years under its belt it has some respectable titles. Although I still value the DS as a better console... so Im a Nintendo geek at heart. I hated the black PSP, I thought it looked too much like the slim PS2, but when I saw the white one, I thought it was super sexy. So I have a PSP! Woohoo!

congrats. I got one on day 1 and i rarely touch the damned thing. I've been meaning to go get a few new games like the Daxter game, ratchet 7 Clank,a nd the God of War game when it is released... although i still am not cool with paying 40 bucks for a game that really looks and plays like something from 5 years ago.
I use my psp to watch movies in the tattoo shop (and not those overpriced umd's either, good ol' fashioned flash drive mpegs for me thank you) lol. |

Yeah, UMD is the biggest waste, I already havea huge DVD collection, why should I rebuy everything on UMD? Same goes for HDDVD or Bluray. I just rip my DVDs and optimize them for the PSP, done.

Ah yes, I am not a big fan of puzzle games, but I am hooked onto Lumines. It combines music, visuals and puzzle very well, and it is highly addictive.

I'm having the same thoughts... A year ago I would have laughed of the idea of getting a PSP but now:
- Ratchet and MG: Portable Ops being released in Europe - The price drop with a great timing with a great bundle with ratchet - Tons of games like LocoRoco and Daxter that are cheap now - Square just announced a bunch of new games at the Party (FF Tactics, Star Ocean, etc) - There are still great games like Silent Hill and the really cool-looking Crush - And maybe the most important: God of War I'm only scared that they announce a PSPlite or something soon. And the old question: Black or White? |

The White one is sexual, no question about it.

There is a PSP2 in the works. a PSPlite of you will.
My PSP just gets used as a paperweight. The noisy UMD drive and not very exciting software makes the DSlite the console of choice.

I don't think that's officially confirmed, but it's more or less the truth. Which is why I'm holding back to buy one... again. I sold mine 'cause I never used it and there was really no games on it at that time that I wanted. Plus I needed the money, and I thought I'd just sell it before it loses too much value. I'm glad I did, 'cause it would've been a waste of shelf space to keep it.

Sony is still gonna try to keep going in the portable market, eh? It seems a little silly, if you ask me, looking at how much the DS is ripping the market apart. Perhaps Sony will learn that people are more interested in good original games than ports and entertainment.

Liking something or someone's products doesn't make you a fanboy.
Personally, I'm not attracted to portable versions of Sony's flagship franchises as I'd rather play such games on a home system, especially considering PSP's notoriously low battery life. There are, however, plenty of PSP games I'd love to play (Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins, Exit, Mercury Meltdown, Lumines, Crush...), but I don't even have the time and money for the DS which I still find a much preferable option. Have fun with your new system, Dasilva.

Dasilva, I'm sure you will be excited to hear about the new SW Battlefront if you are interested in the series. I believe it is called Renagade Squadron which is a PSP exclusive game.
Also, if you are into the Harvest Moon, Innocent Life:Harvest Moon was just released yesterday but is quite difficult to find. It seems like an interesting spin on HM and as soon as I find it I will buy it for sure. As all HM games, they are big time consumers, leaving little time for other games. |

its funny.. I like having the original "bulky" models of systems.
There is something quirky about them, and usually there is no real difference save for design - although rumours about the psp2 state it will have 8gb of internal flash, quicker load times, and a better screen....th models of the sega cd, the cdx, the nomad, a few 32x's.... (just to name sega 16 bit era stuff), and while it's pointless to have all those things - I think its fun to see the technological progression the systems have gone through. Maybe someday I'll set my systems up like a timeline, hehe. I have all 3 models of the sega genesis, bo |

If a PSPlite came out, I'd definatly trade my old one in for the improved model. But I think that won't happen for another 2 years or so.

I read in a Game Informer that the PSP is getting remade into a smaller and more managable system with the same size screen. That much is official but I do not remember reading when it was to happen.

No, of course not. As long as you acknowledge that the GP2X is superior to all these silly little propretiarry handhelds, you're pretty safe from being a sony fanboy.
