Default The New Indiana Jones game

http://www.lucasarts.com/

Have anyone seen the screenshots and the trailer? You don't know what to think of this game based on that. To me, technology alone isn't what makes a game great. But lets say the gameplay and story is just half as good as the graphics and technology they are promoting, then this game would still be really really good. The fact that it isn't released for PC is another thing that bugs me. Time will tell if it's worth getting.

It looks just like The Emperors Tomb just with sharper visuals and new moves, to be honest. And the combat looks EXTREMELY slow in the trailer, it looks painful.

I agree that it looks very similair to Emperor's Tomb and that game was all right, but it could have been so much better. Fate of Atlantis is on the other hand one of my favourite games.

Now now, Fate of Atlantis is a solid adventure game but Emperor's Tomb is an action game with very few adventure elements so we should evaluate the games according to their genres

So because it's an action game we can accept that it's a little crappy?

i just dont think we can rate all the indy games together since they're all different. what about the old AMIGA 500 platformer indy? now i can remember that being slightly horrible and hard to play even though i persisted at it JUST BECAUSE it was indy.

Yea the fighting did seem a little clunky there. But really I don't think it was footage of the actual game (in-game yes...but not playing), and the game probably isn't finished yet, as there's still a year till it's scheduled to be released. The "bio-mechanical AI" , while powerful, actually doesn't seem that realistic, as the people behave more like rag-dolls than people soon as they're in the air. Maybe that's how people would behave though, I dunno. Just seems like HL2 had the same thing, practically (except there they became rag-dolls upon death).

I didn't mean that I like action games more adventures so I like Emperor's Tomb more than Fate of Atlantis but what I am trying to say it would be wrong to compare them because they belong to different genres

I don't know if I agree with you there. I tend to look at all games the same way no matter what genre they belong to. With that said I like games that tells great stories and have memorable characters. But if the gameplay consists of puzzles or shooting doesn't matter to me. Fate of Atlantis had both.

Fate of Atlantis had shooting ? Hardly, unless you mean the action version of the game

I meant the fighting. Action nonetheless.

It wasn't very advanced no but I thought it was fun as part of the gameplay. Granted that it was 10 years since I last played it but how did you manage to skip it completely?

You know ,you could run from soldiers instead of fighting and there is one hit sucker punch choice which you win fight with one punch

I guess you could run away most of the time if you didn't choose the "action path" (then you had to fight). Though I don't recall there was a "sucker punch choice".
