So, has anyone found any videos from Sony's GDC keynote yet? The only PS3 GDC video I managed to dig out is this underwhelming tech demo footage.

My favorite announcement from GDC is a new Ratchet and Clank. That series is sweet. I just hope they go back to the original rather than the last one, which wasn't even a platformer.

Maybe it's mid leap? He is throwing a shadow underneath him so he certainly seems to be up in the air.

I suppose he's running? But collision detection between those dead baddies and the ground definitely needs some work.

Those screens look pretty lame (compared to the Killzone E3 video which was apparantly all pre-rendered fakyness), I'm curious why they're hyping so many ugly launch titles (not being a graphics whore here, but Sony did say it'd be far more capable of next gen gfx than the 360).

The tech demo footage seemed a bit weak to me.

Considering they'll be up against a bunch of high caliber Xbox 360 games and god-knows-what-Nintendo-has-up-in-their-sleeves in November, Sony just can't afford weak launch titles this time around.

SSX and Dead or Alive 2 didn't exactly suck either. SSX is still one of my favourite launch titles ever.

They were up against some really good looking Dreamcast games back then, and the PS2 launch titles sucked. We all saw how that ended.

PS2 launch titles if I remember correctly:

* Armored Core 2--(Action)
* SSX--(Sports)
* Dynasty Warriors 2--(Action)
* ESPN Winter X Games Snowboarding--(Sports)
* Eternal Ring--(Role-Playing)
* Evergrace--(Role-Playing)
* Fantavision--(Puzzle)
* Gun Griffon Blaze--(Action)
* Kessen--(Adventure)
* Madden NFL 2001--(Sports)
* Midnight Club: Street Racing--(Racing)
* Moto GP--(Racing)
* NHL 2001--(Sports)
* Orphen--(Role-Playing)
* Ready 2 Rumble: Round 2--(Sports)
* Ridge Racer V--(Racing)
* Silent Scope--(Action)
* Smuggler's Run--(Racing)
* Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore--(Fighting)
* Street Fighter EX3--(Fighting)
* Summoner--(Role-Playing)
* Swing Away Golf--(Sports)
* Tekken Tag Tournament--(Fighting)
* Timesplitters--(Action)
* Unreal Tournament--(Action)
* Wild Wild Racing--(Racing)
* X-Squad--(Action)

Silent Hill 2 was not a launch title, and that stupid fireworks game is called Fantavision.
SSX was their strongest title I agree ,but hardly a killer app, and Dead or alive 2 was both available on the PSOne and Dreamcast.
The rest was either available on other systems, alright but hardly revelutionary, medicore or frankly crap.
And ad the Bouncher on the list, arguable Square worst title ever.

Yes, but situation was very different then. Microsoft is no Sega, and Nintendo is trying to lure people who don't care much for the PlayStation brand - or current gaming in general, for that matter. I'm too tired for some serious analysis right now, but let's just say I sincerely doubt it'll be a smooth ride for any of the three companies.

People tend to forget that in the begining, Dreamcast was outselling the PS2 and the reason Sega whent bankrupt was not because of it's "bad" sales but because of their past catching up to them (32X anyone?)

Wait, if sega went bankrupt how are they still around? I thought they were just coming near bankruptcy and had to stop the dreamcast.

You never know, they might come back into the console war after theyve recovered...

Well, it's not as simple as that. Sammy (makers of Guilty Gear for example) bought them and It's size is just a shadow of their former selfs. It's not unless Sammy decides to go into the console war (witch I doubt) that we might see a new system.
