Yeah he's mentioned how he wrote an MGS script. Of course he wrote the X-Men movies, and he's currently directing the Black Widow movie. Anyway, I've heard no studios picked up his MGS pitch.

Especially the ending.

Admittedly, I never quite understood what people found so confusing about it. The role of the Patriots, and the ultimate reason for why everything happened, are both pretty typical conspiracy theories. And I think conspiracy theories are great fun (no, I don't have any tinfoil hats, I just think they're fun fiction ), so hey.

I think someone's enjoyment of the game hinges on how much they liked "Fission Mailed." If that pissed them off, the rest of the game probably will as well. If they thought it was hilarious or fun, they're probably in the right mindset to enjoy everything else. I've never heard someone say "I loved the game, but the Fission Mailed bit sucked" or vice versa.

It's also important to not be too attatched to that fourth wall, because it comes crashing down in spectacular fashion a few times.

Actually, I'd say MGS2 is the content of MGS married to the overall feel of Killer 7. It's MGS, but with a labyrinthine plot and a knack for screwing with the player on purpose (hell, the game is more about the player than it is about the main characters). I can see why that wouldn't appeal to some people.

For people in North America:

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence is out. With Metal Gear Online. Get it.

I wish MGS PC version would work on modern cards. If it doesn't detect older video cards it reverts to software mode only and has crashes. I've tried all sorts of faking utilities to make it work but its no use.

Not exactly. It's a different game, built on the MGS3 engine with MS3 art assets. The maps and goals are different. If you've ever played an online FPS it's very similar in structure, but with MGS3 gameplay.

So yeah, you do sneak around with friends, but against other friends and in a map designed for it.

Sorta. It's all third person, but one of the modes (the one closest to typical MGS) is Sneaking. In that mode, Snake has to infiltrate a base and everyone else has to keep him out. Thing is, Snake is given a ton of gadgets and everyone else is given just the basics. It works a lot like typical MGS.

The rest are all more action oriented.
