I know of other boards that have poll sections but it seems redundant to me. Anyone can start a poll in the appropriate forum (Adventure for adventure-related stuff, General for general gaming stuff, etc.) and there are usually conversations that go along with the polls that really do belong in those forums.

My only request when people start polls is that they don't leave them open forever. I hate it when year-old polls get bumped up because someone voted on them, without even making a post. Call it a pet peeve.

So Fov do you think it is a good idea having a Poll Section on the forum here.

It's a forum for posting only polls. A board I used to post to set this up because old polls getting bumped to the top of the forum became a big problem (i.e., the old polls were dominating the front page). So they set up a forum specifically for polls and turned off the ability to start polls in any other forum.

We don't really have that problem, here, so I don't see why a dedicated poll forum would be needed. As I said above, it makes more sense to post polls in whichever forum corresponds to the topic of the poll (as we already do).

Not a bad idea, just not necessary.

You can still start a poll whenever you want to.

Like she said, Filmman, you can make a poll thread anywhere you want. Those who want to vote will, and those who just want to read the comments will.

When you start a topic, scroll down to the very bottom of your screen. Just above the 'Submit New Topic' button at the bottom of the screen there should be an option to start a poll. Just check it off before you hit the submit button.
