I think they purposely did this so as to cut down on clutter that could easily be avoided: hence they placed an extensive link collection to help you:

http://www.adventuregamers.com/links.php

I'm sure if you didn't find help for what you were looking for, there, you could ask it in the general Adventure Games or General Games forums.

From the opening announcement:

Quote:
A quick look at the forum index will immediately show that we've sent the "Technical Help" and "Stuck!" forums to retirement. We've always felt that posts in these forums have often gone by unnoticed, so we're letting them mix with the other threads in the Adventure" forum. To prevent the troubleshooting threads from dominating the forum, we've opened a new sticky thread where we'll try to collect as much general tips & information as possible. There's also a link at the top of the forum for those seeking walkthroughs or hints. We'll see how this goes.
I think it's been pretty succesful so far. There's only maybe been a few too much "running XYZ under Windows 2000" threads, so it's possible we'll write some kind of tutorial for that.

I personally havent minded the occasional "getting x game to run in y operating system" threads. It's not like you have to wade through them to get to other good threads. The fact that theyre occasionally floating around in there is probably good as it will help people with slightly more unique problems know which forum to ask them in

Yeah I think it's worked well. I tried to visit the stuck and technical help forums in the past and help people but gave up after a while. Now it's in the main forum, already people are getting quick responses to Qs. Good idea
