New AG site design coming up!
Stock up on duct tape and canned beans and get yourself ready, because Adventure Gamers is relaunching! (and who knows what will really happen... )
We've been working on a new site design for over two months now and we're almost ready to upload it. I don't know when it'll go live exactly (there's always those annoying last-minute bugs to kill), but it'll happen sometime this week. Hopefully the changeover will be as smooth as when we switched servers a while ago, but if any weird stuff happens, you'll know why. Be prepared for some big changes - at least, bigger than during the last transition to the current design. And it's not just the site that will be change, but the forums too. Mind you, I think most people will really love the site design, but I expect some aspects of the new forum design won't make everyone happy. They're pretty small things, but they could be pretty important to some, so just be aware that stuff might not be exactly the same. Anyway, if you log in later and everything is different and you feel like screaming "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?", just breathe slowly, and consider not registering your disgust on the forums until at least you're eyes have adjusted to the new look. New designs always take some getting used to. (And you don't want to be that guy who hates everything but then has to awkwardly backpaddle a week later ) Rest assured though, it's an awesome design. I'm really proud of it and I think it's the best AG has ever had. I've been secretly using the new forum layout on my account for a few weeks and there's just no way I could ever go back now. There's even some elements returning from the very first design (the one with the green background), so old school visitors should be pleased. Not much more to say for now, other than that I'll keep you posted. Stay tuned! |

Canned beans, indeed, I think I'll keep a refreshed AGers page on my computer 24/7 until it's uploaded. It's like New Years or something.

Hooray for canned beans!
On a related note, you may see a few small quirks popping up in the current design. That's just the result of current and new functions interacting behind the scenes. Nothing to worry about (or bother fixing); those will all go bye-bye in a few days. |

I knew it! Stocking up on toilet paper in case of a nuclear war was justified!
B...but you only recently changed the background colour! I only just got used to it! And we still haven't agreed on what colour the background actually is! : YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME!!! -

It's beige. Case closed. Bring on the new colours!

Um...more like...Olive. I'm not talking about the base colour. I'm talking about the background! Oh, and what you call "beige" is not beige, but rather...okay, it *is* beige and not khaki. But what's the background? -

Ah. That one. I suppose we could call it a not-so-saturated olive. Or simply "a sort of green". Hm. You're right. We should have a better name for it.
Edit: Giligan, you have green motor oil? Or a damaged monitor, perhaps.

It's more of a yellow, really. A really dark yellow. Which is essentially motor oil, I'd say.

I'm still laughing. And the background is a sort of pinkish grey.
Edit: what background are we talking about actually; the background of this text (pinkish grey) or the backgroud of the whole site (yellowish)? |

I've been snitching around and I discovered what the new color scheme will be. Sorry to flip the bird on you Marek but I couldn't hold my tongue any longer.
The new template features a size 12 times new roman font, with 2 exciting new colors: Fire engine red for the background, and gun metal grey for the foreground. The text is in orange fruit orange. It's simply amazing! Last edited by Glenn Epic; 09-11-2007 at 11:38 PM. |

We're talking about colour behind everything (around the edge), and those calling it yellow need their monitors. (The text background isn't pink, either.)

It is on my MacBook Pro. But everyone knows the old MBP has a very bad screen for such an expensive laptop.
